The Citizen Record Label Tsuno Chrono is best understood as a design lineage rather than one universally specified watch: the family includes multiple references, and details vary by model. One clearly documented example is the AN3700-62A, a quartz chronograph with caliber 0510 that Citizen’s design archive lists as launching in 2024. Its defining feature is the pair of horn-like pushers at 12 o’clock, a nod to Citizen’s 1973 Chronograph Challenge Timer.
What does “Tsuno Chrono” mean?
Citizen describes the Tsuno Chrono as a revival of the design of its Chronograph Challenge Timer, introduced in 1973. “Tsuno” is the Japanese word behind the horn nickname: the chronograph pushers sit at the 12 o’clock side of the case and resemble horns. That placement gives the watch a more distinctive silhouette than a conventional chronograph with pushers on the side of the case. Citizen’s Tsuno Chrono design feature explains the nickname and heritage.
The collection sits within Citizen Record Label, a line intended to record the brand’s varied design character and draw on its design resources. Citizen’s official model list includes Tsuno Chrono alongside other retro-influenced families. See Citizen’s Record Label model list.
Which Tsuno Chrono reference is this?
“Tsuno Chrono” covers multiple references, so a review or purchase comparison needs an exact model number. Citizen’s current Record Label listing includes AN3660-81E and AN3660-81A. Separately, its design archive identifies AN3700-62A as a Tsuno Chrono. The specifications for one reference should not be assumed to apply to another.

What the documented AN3700-62A offers
Movement and function
For the AN3700-62A specifically, Citizen identifies a quartz movement, caliber 0510, and describes the watch as a chronograph. Those facts are reference-specific; they are not a basis for assigning the same caliber or movement type to every Tsuno Chrono.
Price and region
Citizen’s 2024 Japanese award announcement gives a suggested retail price of ¥28,600 (¥26,000 before tax) for each of AN3700-62A and AN3700-54E. This is a dated Japanese list price, not a current transaction price, a global price, or a price established for the AN3660 references. The announcement does not establish present-day availability.

Why the design is the point
The watch’s most legible design argument is also its most specific: it brings back an identifiable Citizen feature from an archival chronograph rather than borrowing a generic vintage look. The horn-like pushers make that connection visible at a glance, while the 1973 origin gives the shape a clear reference point.
In Citizen’s 2024 award release, the Good Design Award jury characterized the Tsuno Chrono as an archive-based approach to new product design and noted the historical pusher detail. The jury also observed: “The wristwatch is originally a tool for telling time, but with people checking the time on their smartphones, its role has begun to shift toward the pleasure of owning and wearing it.” That is the jury’s design perspective, not a report of independent wear testing.

What this review can—and cannot—establish
The official material establishes the family’s historical framing, the distinctive pusher placement, and selected model facts. It does not provide a complete, current side-by-side specification set for the listed references. The evidence here also does not establish hands-on fit, comfort, legibility, accuracy, or durability, nor current regional retailer pricing and stock. Buyers comparing models should check the exact reference and its regional product page before relying on specifications or price.
