Confirm you have the Vader reference
Citizen’s Star Wars Tsuno models are easy to mix up because the collection uses the same case design across characters. The Darth Vader model is AN3669-52E, as listed in Citizen Watch Hong Kong’s 2022 collection announcement. The reference AN3668-55W belongs to Darth Maul, according to Citizen’s U.S. product page. If a listing or search result gives you the Tsuno Chrono Darth Vader name with a different reference number, check the number against Citizen’s own pages before you rely on the specifications below.

How the Vader design shows up
Citizen says the Vader model’s chronograph-hand colors echo the character’s shift from Jedi to Sith. The subdials carry details taken from the character’s armor. In practice, the character identity sits in the chronograph hands and subdial layout rather than in a separate dial graphic, so the look depends on the specific hand colors and subdial finish in photographs. Those details are not measured in any source we reviewed, so check product photos at high resolution before you judge how the colors read in person.
Tsuno heritage: what the name refers to
The “Tsuno” name comes from an earlier Citizen model. Citizen Watch Japan’s 2022 announcement says the Chronograph Challenge Timer debuted in 1973 as Citizen’s first full-fledged chronograph and became known by the nickname “Tsuno Chrono” because its push buttons at the 12 o’clock position look like horns. The translation here is ours; the original Japanese reads: 「クロノグラフ チャレンジタイマー」は、ケースの12時側に配置されたプッシュボタンがツノのように見えることから、「ツノクロノ」の愛称で親しまれました。

This is a design lineage. Citizen presents the Vader model as a modern Star Wars take on that case language. It does not claim the new watch is mechanically identical to the 1973 model, and you should not assume it is.
Launch details and lineup
Citizen’s Japanese announcement gave a planned release date of 29 September 2022 and described a five-model limited collection. Citizen Watch Hong Kong’s announcement listed four character models. The difference most likely reflects regional selection rather than a single global lineup, so the count depends on which market’s announcement you read. Neither announcement establishes current stock, availability or retail price, and any 2022 release date is historical.

What the launch material cannot tell you
- Comfort on the wrist. Case size and thickness are published, but fit depends on lug shape, strap and wrist size, none of which appear in the sources.
- Measured accuracy. The 15 seconds per month figure is Citizen’s stated spec. No independent timing results were established.
- Finishing and durability. No hands-on inspection or wear testing was available for this article.
- Current price and availability. Launch-era information only; retailers and secondary sellers may differ.
How to verify a listing before you buy
- Search for the full reference AN3669-52E, not the character name alone, since the collection shares a design.
- Confirm the reference on the dial case back or product page against the Citizen Watch Hong Kong or Citizen Watch Japan announcement.
- Check that the seller lists the Darth Vader model, not Darth Maul (AN3668-55W).
- Look for the movement caliber 0510 and the 38.0 mm case diameter in the listing details.
- Check the current price and return terms directly with the seller, because prices from 2022 do not carry forward.
Who this watch suits
For buyers who want a Darth Vader-themed Tsuno chronograph and are comfortable with a quartz movement, the published specifications describe a watch with a clear character design and a conventional chronograph layout. Buyers who need a verified water-resistance rating for swimming, or who depend on independently measured accuracy, will need information this article cannot provide.
