The CODE41 X41 Edition 6 Sapphire was announced from CHF 14,793, with a case made from sapphire rather than the titanium or AeroCarbon used in other X41 configurations. That is a historical launch price, not a confirmed current offer. The key practical difference is water resistance: CODE41’s technical sheet rates the Sapphire case at 3 ATM/30 m, compared with 10 ATM/100 m for titanium and AeroCarbon.
What “full sapphire case” means on the X41
“Sapphire” describes the case material, not just the watch’s crystal. CODE41 specifies sapphire crystals on the front and back across X41 configurations; the Sapphire configuration adds a case made from sapphire. The transparent case is intended to show more of the skeleton movement. CODE41 says sapphire turns the X41 into a work of art that can be admired from every angle, a brand description rather than an independent value assessment. CODE41’s Edition 6 release says the sapphire case costs CHF 3,600 to produce, versus CHF 160 for titanium, and calls it 22 times more expensive. Those are company-stated production figures, not independently verified costs.
Edition 6 launch prices and what they mean
In its 2022 Edition 6 release, CODE41 announced the X41 Sapphire from CHF 14,793. The same release listed the titanium version with a leather strap from CHF 5,393. The comparison is between different case materials and a stated titanium strap configuration; it is not a like-for-like current retail quote. The release also gave historical titanium starting prices of €5,443, £4,995 and $5,443. These figures establish what CODE41 announced at launch, not what a buyer would pay now.
Water resistance differs by case variant
Do not apply the X41’s 10 ATM figure to the Sapphire case. CODE41’s technical sheet gives the Sapphire configuration a 3 ATM/30 m rating, while titanium and AeroCarbon configurations are rated 10 ATM/100 m. The user guide says editions from Edition 4 onward are 10 ATM, but the technical sheet is variant-specific for Sapphire; consult the documentation for the exact watch being considered. CODE41 cautions against scuba diving and activities involving strong currents, deep immersion or significant impact. It also advises checking that the crown is correctly locked before water exposure.

Specifications and configuration checks
CODE41’s user guide lists 42 mm diameter, 11.7 mm thickness and a 24 mm interchangeable strap for models from Edition 4 onward. Its technical sheet lists the Sapphire model at 54 g bare and 84 g with a leather strap. Confirm the exact Edition 6 configuration before treating those general or variant entries as measurements for a particular watch.

Movement and routine care
CODE41 describes the X41 as an automatic mechanical watch with a peripheral oscillating weight. The user guide lists 297 components, 33 jewels, an estimated 45-hour power reserve at full charge and stated precision of -2/+10 seconds per day. To wind it manually, the guide advises removing the watch from the wrist and turning the crown clockwise approximately 40 times; do not force it.

The guide recommends movement servicing every 4 to 8 years depending on use, and water-resistance checks every 2 to 3 years. These are manufacturer recommendations. Arrange servicing through a qualified watch service provider rather than attempting movement work yourself.

The collection page describes the movement as made and assembled in Switzerland; its origin disclosure lists the case as China and assembly and design/development in Switzerland. CODE41 says it publishes this Total Transparency on Origin disclosure despite meeting Swiss Made criteria. These statements refer to different parts and stages of production, so “Swiss-made” alone does not describe the stated origin of every component.
The project page currently reports CHF 11,402,785 in pre-orders and 2,125 pieces sold across its first six editions. These are cumulative totals reported by CODE41; the page does not make their measurement date explicit. They describe the project as a whole, not Edition 6 Sapphire sales alone.
