How do you read the CIGA Design Blue Planet II?
CIGA calls the mechanism an “Asynchronous-Follow” display. The Earth dial advances 30 degrees each hour, while the minute ring rotates 390 degrees per hour. Rather than treating the globe as a conventional hour hand, use the fixed compass reference to read the indications as the Earth and ring move past it. Their alignment communicates the time.
What is the Blue Planet II?
CIGA Design describes the Blue Planet as an automatic watch powered by its self-developed CD-04-E movement. Its dial has a CNC-engraved topographic relief intended to represent Earth. The official product page shows steel and titanium options and case sizes of 43 mm and 46 mm; confirm the selected configuration because the page presents variants.

CIGA lists the 46 mm version with Nemoto LumiNova lume; its page does not establish that the 43 mm version has the same feature. It lists one fluororubber strap in the package. A 22 mm strap width appears on an official Atlantic variant page, but that alone does not establish replacement-strap fit for every Blue Planet II reference.
What does the 2021 GPHG award recognize?
The official Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève record names “CIGA Design, Blue Planet” as the winner of the 2021 Challenge Watch Prize: GPHG award record. That attribution is for Blue Planet; the record by itself does not show that every later Blue Planet II configuration was the exact watch entered or awarded.

What to consider before buying
Choose the configuration, not just the name
Compare the available 43 mm and 46 mm sizes and steel or titanium cases on the live product page. CIGA lists a price of $1,199 USD, but price and availability can change, and the exact selectable variant should be checked before purchase: CIGA Design Blue Planet product page.
Keep the water rating in perspective
CIGA lists 3 ATM water resistance. That rating should not be treated as evidence that the watch is suitable for swimming or diving.
