That makes it an engineering-led, highly conspicuous watch rather than a practical choice for someone seeking a discreet everyday diver. Its specifications are impressive on paper; buyers should also verify the exact watch’s configuration, documents and edition claims.
What is the CX Swiss Military 20,000 Feet?
Charmex introduced the CX Swiss Military 20,000 Feet in 2009 as a titanium automatic chronograph diver. Contemporary coverage identifies its stated depth rating as 6,000 m (20,000 ft). The model’s appeal is its combination of a substantial mechanical chronograph and an exceptionally high stated rating—not compactness or understated styling.
Dive into Watches’ 2009 review describes the design and equipment as coherent for buyers who accept the extreme build. That is the reviewer’s assessment, not a substitute for an independent evaluation of a particular watch’s condition or documentation.
What does the 20,000-foot rating mean?
The stated rating is 6,000 m, or 20,000 ft. That figure should not be confused with the separate 7,500 m equivalent sometimes listed for the watch. Dive into Watches describes the higher figure as a 25% pressure reserve in its discussion of ISO 6425; Europa Star’s 2009 specifications also list both numbers. The 7,500 m figure is therefore best understood as a stated reserve, not the model’s named operating rating. The cited material reports these specifications but does not establish an independently inspected certification record.
#1 Best Overall
- 🌊 1000M Water Resistance: Pressure-tested for depths of 1000 meters, perfect for professional divers and water enthusiasts.
- ⏱️ Japanese Caliber NH36 Automatic Movement: Known for accuracy and reliability, crafted with precision by expert watchmakers.
- 💎 Sapphire Crystal: Slightly domed for enhanced visibility and scratch resistance, magnifying the dial for clear reading
- 🌟 316L Stainless Steel: Corrosion and rust-proof, offering long-lasting durability and a polished finish.
- 🛠️ Helium-Safe Valve: Fully functional Helium-release valve, ideal for deep-sea saturation diving.
A very high depth rating is a specification, not a practical invitation to take a vintage or pre-owned example anywhere near that depth. For an individual watch, condition, service history and the integrity of its seals matter; the historical model rating alone cannot establish its present water resistance.
How large and heavy is it on the wrist?
The case measures 46 mm across and 28.5 mm thick. The titanium bracelet version is reported at about 265 g. Titanium does not make this a lightweight-feeling watch: the thickness and overall mass remain prominent, and the reviewer characterizes it as visually conspicuous rather than discreet under a cuff. The same review notes that its 46 mm diameter is smaller than the 48 mm predecessor, but that comparison does little to soften the impact of its height.

- Stainless Steel case with Black Resin Band
- Black Dial with date window at 3 O'clock
- Luminous markers and hour hands; sweep second hand
- Anti-reverse bezel
- Water-resistant to 200 M (660 feet)
Europa Star also lists a 10 mm anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal. Taken together, these dimensions point to a watch that needs substantial wrist presence and clearance from sleeves. If fit is a deciding factor, try the exact configuration on in person rather than judging it by diameter alone.

Dial variants and edition claims
Europa Star lists silver, black carbon, blue and yellow dial options. Edition totals are less clear: Dive into Watches states 200, while a current retailer description says 1,000 worldwide. Those claims conflict, so neither should be treated as a definitive production total. Ask for the individual watch’s certificate and check the reference and dial against manufacturer documentation before relying on a limited-edition claim.
What to check before buying
Because this model is a specific, unusually configured watch, evaluate the actual example rather than relying only on its headline depth rating or a generic specification page.

- Reference and configuration: Match the dial, case, bracelet or strap, and reference to the seller’s description. Europa Star’s listed options do not prove that every configuration is available now.
- Condition and service: For a pre-owned watch, request service records and ask whether the crown, pushers, seals and helium relief valve have been inspected. Do not assume a 2009-era rating describes current water resistance.
- Rating paperwork: Confirm what documents accompany the particular watch. Treat 6,000 m as the stated model rating and the 7,500 m figure as the reported pressure-reserve equivalent, not as proof of an individually verified test.
- Edition certificate: Since published totals conflict, rely on documentation tied to the specific example rather than an unqualified scarcity claim.
- Fit and strap compatibility: Check how the 28.5 mm thickness and reported bracelet weight feel on your wrist. If considering an aftermarket strap, confirm the attachment dimensions and compatibility for that exact watch.
- Seller terms: Check current stock, warranty, return conditions and seller location directly; these can vary by market and change over time.
