Delugs’ straight-end FKM straps are designed for watches with standard spring-bar lugs, but “universal” does not mean they fit every watch. Before ordering, match the strap’s lug width to the watch; if you choose a cut-to-size (CTS) model, trim it gradually and fine-tune the fit with the included deployant clasp.
Will a Delugs straight-end strap fit your watch?
Delugs describes its universal straight-end straps as fitting watches with standard spring-bar lugs. The connection is the key: a watch with integrated or unusual strap connections may need a watch-specific strap instead. Delugs explains the general difference between straight-end and other connections in its Watch Strap 101 guide.
Even with the right connection, the strap width must match the distance between the watch’s lugs. Measure between the inside edges of the lugs or use Delugs’ Strap Finder. In a size such as “20-16,” the first number, 20 mm, is the lug width; the second is the buckle width. Delugs’ Black Tropical CTS product page explains this sizing notation.
How to choose the right strap
- Check the connection. Confirm that your watch accepts a standard straight-end strap on spring bars. Do not assume a universal strap will suit an integrated or proprietary connection.
- Match the lug width. Measure the gap between the lugs or consult the Strap Finder. The first number in the Delugs size is the lug width and must match your watch.
- Choose the buckle width and appearance. Delugs offers different FKM styles, patterns, colors, lug widths, and buckle widths. Check the current rubber strap collection for the available combinations.
- Check the current listing. Confirm the selected size, clasp, and included hardware on the product page before ordering; assortment and availability can change.
How CTS sizing and trimming work
Delugs’ cut-to-size straps arrive longer than needed so you can tailor them to your wrist. The company says scissors are sufficient for trimming. Its collection FAQ lists a deployant clasp with micro-adjustment, quick-release and standard spring bars, a spring-bar tool, and printed instructions as included components.

- Measure your wrist and begin with the strap longer than your target fit.
- Trim conservatively, following the printed instructions. It is safer to remove a little at a time than to cut too much at once.
- Fit the strap and use the clasp’s micro-adjustment to refine the length.

What Delugs says about FKM and water
Delugs describes FKM fluoroelastomer as chemically stable and resistant to aging and weather. The company calls its straps water-resistant and says they can be worn for showering, swimming, sweating, and diving, followed by rinsing. These are Delugs’ product claims; the cited product information does not provide independent test methods, conditions, or a comparison with other strap materials. For care or use in a specific environment, follow the instructions on the product you purchase.

What “universal” does—and does not—mean
In Delugs’ terminology, “universal” means a straight-end strap intended for watches with standard spring-bar lugs. It does not guarantee fit across watches with different lug widths or connection designs. Fit depends first on the watch’s connection and then on a matching lug-width size; CTS trimming addresses wrist length, not lug compatibility.
