If you need a part or repair for a discontinued Omega, start by identifying the exact watch and contacting an Omega boutique or authorized service centre through Omega’s official regional website. Parts availability, compatibility and service eligibility vary by reference and calibre; Omega does not publish a general parts catalogue that establishes availability for every discontinued model.
Identify the watch before asking about parts
Gather what you can without opening the watch or removing components. The goal is to help the service provider identify the exact model and assess the problem—not to guess a replacement from appearance alone.

- Reference or model: Check any original paperwork and visible markings. Include the serial number if available.
- Calibre: Note it if known. Do not open the watch to find it; a watchmaker can inspect the movement.
- Problem or part: Describe the symptom and the part you believe may be needed, if known.
- Useful images: Take clear photos of the dial and caseback. Include a movement photo only if it is already visible without disassembly.
- Service context: State your country, any known service history, and whether preserving original parts and finish matters more to you than refinishing or replacing components.
These details are practical preparation, not a published Omega checklist. Omega’s manuals direct owners to its authorized service-centre listing, and Omega says its authorized network serves both current and vintage watches. Omega customer service | Omega user manuals

- What work and parts are included in the estimate, and what could cost extra?
- What is the expected turnaround, and what warranty terms apply in your region?
Omega’s service pages do not establish one global parts inventory, price, intake process or turnaround for all discontinued watches. Ask the local centre for a written estimate and confirm the terms for your watch before authorizing work. Omega customer service
Understand what a complete service may include
Omega Japan’s service guidance says a complete service may include replacement of applicable items such as the crown, pushers, a non-sapphire crystal, an escape valve and gaskets. The scope depends on the watch; the page also says other necessary parts may incur additional charges with the owner’s agreement. Check the estimate for the actual parts and work proposed rather than assuming every item applies to your model. Omega Japan service and price information
Omega Japan recommends complete maintenance every five to eight years, depending on use and wearing conditions. That is Omega’s guidance on its Japanese page, not a universal interval for every region, model or watch condition. The same page states a 24-month warranty for paid service, subject to its conditions; confirm the local terms and exclusions. It says work performed by a non-authorized provider is not covered by that service warranty.

Know when restoration is a different route
Omega Japan describes a specialist restoration service at its atelier in Bienne for original models manufactured before 1940. Omega says worn parts can be restored and missing pieces may be hand-made. The page gives a duration of at least three months; this is a minimum, not a promised completion date. Eligibility, condition, regional terms and workload can affect what Omega will accept and how long work takes, so confirm directly with Omega. Omega Japan restoration information
This restoration scope should not be read as a special route for every discontinued watch. For models outside the stated pre-1940 scope, ask Omega whether standard service or another option is available for the exact reference.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Consider an independent vintage Omega specialist
If you explore an independent watchmaker, look for someone who specifically services vintage Omega watches and assess the provider directly. Ask about their experience with the watch’s calibre, how they source parts, how they verify compatibility, whether removed parts will be returned, and how the work will be documented. Request a written estimate that identifies proposed replacements or refinishing and requires your approval before additional work.
Rank #3
Compare the authorized and independent options on the same questions: acceptance of your exact watch, parts provenance and compatibility, preservation preferences, estimate and approval process, warranty, documentation, return of removed parts, time and total cost. The answers depend on the watch and provider; do not assume that a third-party component will be accepted by Omega later or that Omega sells components directly to consumers.

Do not treat a reissue as a parts donor
A modern watch that recalls a discontinued design is not automatically a source of compatible parts. Omega’s press article says the CK 2998 was first released in 1959 and describes the 2024 “First OMEGA in Space” as a return of that design with a modern movement. Visual similarity does not establish compatibility with the historical watch: have parts checked against its reference and calibre. Omega Press: First OMEGA in Space
