No, at least for the two GM-5600 variants Casio publishes official specifications for: the GM-5600YM-8 and the GM-5600SN-1. Both run on replaceable CR2016 batteries, not solar charging, and Casio’s comparison tables leave their Bluetooth link fields blank. The answer applies to those suffixes only. The wider 5600 series includes watches that do have Tough Solar or Bluetooth, so the full model code printed on your watch or listing decides the question.
What Casio’s official pages list for the GM-5600
Casio’s product pages describe each suffix separately, and the power and connectivity details differ from one to the next. For the two GM-5600 variants covered by its official pages, the picture is consistent: a coin-cell battery and no listed Bluetooth link.
GM-5600YM-8
Casio’s Philippines product comparison for the GM-5600YM-8 lists a CR2016 replaceable battery with an approximate life of five years. The Bluetooth mobile link field is not populated in that comparison. This is a manufacturer estimate for that specific variant, not a result from independent testing.
GM-5600SN-1
Casio’s Singapore page for the GM-5600SN-1 specifies a CR2016 battery with an approximate life of two years, and it lists no Bluetooth link. The shorter estimate is worth noting if you compare it with the YM-8: the two suffixes are not interchangeable on battery life, even though they share the same case family and battery type.

Why the “5600” name causes confusion
The GM-5600 is a square-case model in Casio’s 5600/5000 series, and that series is where solar and Bluetooth models live. Casio’s 5600/5000 Series Square Watch Features Guide describes Bluetooth and Tough Solar as technologies used by some watches in the series. A shared case shape or a shared “5600” number does not tell you which electronics a given model contains.
A concrete example: Casio’s India page for the G-5600UE-1 specifies Tough Solar power. That is a different model from the GM-5600 variants above, with a different suffix and a different power listing. Its solar feature does not carry over to the GM-5600 family.

Comparing the model codes
| Model | Power source as listed by Casio | Battery life estimate (Casio) | Bluetooth link |
|---|---|---|---|
| GM-5600YM-8 | Replaceable CR2016 | Approx. 5 years | No Bluetooth link listed |
| GM-5600SN-1 | Replaceable CR2016 | Approx. 2 years | No Bluetooth link listed |
| G-5600UE-1 | Tough Solar | Not stated on the cited page | Not established by the cited page |
The table covers only the models named above. Other 5600-series suffixes can differ, so do not carry any row to a model you have not checked.
How to confirm a specific watch before buying
- Read the complete model code, not just “GM-5600.” Casio uses letter and number suffixes that separate color, finish and electronics variants. Check the caseback or the box label.
- Find that exact code on Casio’s regional G-SHOCK product page. Pages are organized by country, so use the site for the region you are buying in.
- Look for the power line. A listing of “CR2016” with a battery-life estimate means a replaceable coin cell. A listing of “Tough Solar” means solar charging.
- Look for an explicit Bluetooth or mobile link field in the comparison table. If it is blank or absent, do not assume the feature is there.
- If a seller’s listing does not show the full suffix, ask for it before purchase. A matching case design does not confirm the electronics.
When the answer is yes
If you want solar charging or Bluetooth, the feature is available elsewhere in the 5600 series, but it is tied to specific models. Use the same steps above and select the suffix that Casio’s own page lists with Tough Solar or a Bluetooth mobile link. Do not rely on the case style, the name, or a third-party description to decide.

Battery-life estimates also vary by suffix, so if battery life is your main concern, compare the published figures for the exact codes you are considering rather than assuming one value for the whole family.
Note that the battery-life numbers above are Casio’s product estimates for the stated models. They are not independent test results, and actual life depends on use, such as backlight and alarm frequency.

Taken together, the GM-5600 variants Casio documents are coin-cell watches without listed Bluetooth. Any solar or Bluetooth claim should be tied to the complete suffix on Casio’s official page.
