It keeps the Miyota 9130 movement and adds a more compact 42 mm case. Draken’s listings show Peregrine variants out of stock; prices reported at launch in March 2024 are historical, not current offers.
What changed on the 2024 Draken Peregrine?
The 2024 model addresses two of the original Peregrine’s most noticeable proportions: its 44 mm diameter and 15.25 mm thickness. The redesign measures 42 mm across and 12.75 mm thick, with a 49 mm lug-to-lug length. That makes the case both narrower and slimmer, though the 49 mm length is still worth checking against your wrist and the watches you already find comfortable.

Draken founder Mike says the movement was rotated 180 degrees to bring the power-reserve indicator to the bottom of the dial. The crown is now on the left; when the watch is worn on the left wrist, that position may reduce the chance of the crown pressing into the back of the hand. This is a design consideration, not a guarantee of comfort for every wearer.
How do the dial and functions work?
The Miyota 9130 automatic movement powers hours, minutes, seconds, a date display and the power-reserve indicator. Time+Tide reports a 4 Hz beat rate, a 40-hour power reserve and a stated accuracy range of −10/+30 seconds per day. Those are reported specifications, not results from an independent test of the watch.

The display itself is a distinctive feature for a pilot-style watch in this price category: it lets the wearer see an indication of the movement’s remaining reserve rather than relying only on when the watch was last worn or wound. Draken says the date was repositioned as part of the redesign to preserve dial symmetry. The available dial designs take different approaches: Version A keeps a numeral-based layout, while Version B draws on the Flieger Type A arrangement. Draken lists black and fully luminous white dial options.
In its 2024 design-history article, founder Mike says Draken has noticed an average rate of +7 seconds per day on watches it sends out. That is a brand-reported observation, not an independently measured average, a guaranteed rate, or a substitute for the movement’s stated accuracy range.

What are the case, crystal and water-resistance specifications?
- Case: 42 mm diameter, 49 mm lug-to-lug and 12.75 mm thickness. Draken specifies 316L stainless steel, with a DLC-coated version also listed.
- Crystal: Flat sapphire with anti-reflective coating on the inner and outer surfaces; the display back is also sapphire.
- Crown and water resistance: Screw-down crown and 100 m water resistance, according to Draken and Time+Tide.
- Lug width: 22 mm, according to the official product page.
The 100 m rating is a stated specification; the available sources do not describe a particular test or use condition. For straps, 22 mm is the relevant width to search for, but check the strap’s attachment style and fit before buying.
Which strap and dial versions are offered?
Draken’s catalogue describes bracelet or sailcloth-and-leather band options. Time+Tide also describes a steel bracelet or sailcloth strap, and notes an additional nylon single-pass strap. Variant details and stock can differ, so confirm the exact configuration with the seller rather than assuming every dial is offered with every band.

Is the Draken Peregrine available, and what did it cost at launch?
At the time of the reviewed listings, Draken’s Peregrine page and its specific DLC B White listing were marked out of stock. The DLC listing displayed NZD 1,129 excluding tax and an estimated USD 663, but it was not an in-stock offer. Time+Tide reported these March 2024 preorder prices and RRPs:

Who is the 2024 Peregrine for?
The redesign is most relevant if you want a pilot-style automatic with a power-reserve display but found the original 44 mm by 15.25 mm case too large or thick. The newer 42 mm case is slimmer, and the 49 mm lug-to-lug figure helps assess how much wrist space it may occupy. The left-side crown and two distinct dial layouts are meaningful choices rather than purely cosmetic changes. If considering one second-hand or from a retailer, check the exact variant, condition, included strap or bracelet and seller terms before comparing its price with the old launch figures.
