Summit MK II is a 38 mm automatic ceramic watch with a 100 m water-resistance rating and a Miyota 9039 movement, according to the brand. Its appeal is a compact, alpine-inspired design and ceramic construction; the main buying questions are whether its 45 mm lug-to-lug fit suits your wrist and whether the brand’s stated materials and support terms meet your expectations. This is a specification- and policy-based review, not a hands-on test.
What is the Earthen Co. Summit?
Earthen Co. presents the Summit as an alpine-inspired ceramic watch collection. The current model covered by the company FAQ is the Summit MK II. Earthen describes its founders as collectors and designers rather than watchmakers; that is useful context for understanding the brand’s design-led positioning, not a measure of the watch’s quality.
In its About Us page, co-founder Johnathan Chan says: “We’re not watchmakers—we’re collectors and designers first. Ceramic is our secret weapon: it doesn’t scratch, plays with color like no other material, and lets us reimagine classic styles for today’s adventurers.” The scratch-resistance language is the company’s claim, not an independently established test result.
Fratello Watches published an independent editorial article about the collection on August 31, 2025. Its article offers outside context, but it does not establish measured performance or hands-on findings for the specifications below. See Fratello’s Summit collection article.

Summit MK II specifications
These are the specifications listed by Earthen Co. in its official FAQ; they are brand-stated rather than independently verified here.
| Specification | Summit MK II |
|---|---|
| Case diameter | 38 mm |
| Lug-to-lug | 45 mm |
| Thickness | 10 mm, including glass |
| Lug width | 20 mm |
| Movement | Miyota 9039 automatic |
| Power reserve | Approximately 42 hours |
| Water resistance | 100 m / 10 ATM |
| Case and crystal | Ceramic case; sapphire crystal |
How does it fit?
The 38 mm diameter makes the Summit MK II a relatively modest-sized option on paper, while its 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement is the more useful figure for estimating how far it may span across your wrist. Wrist shape, strap choice, and personal preference affect the result, so compare both measurements with a watch you already find comfortable rather than relying on diameter alone.
The case is 10 mm thick including the glass, and the lugs accept a 20 mm strap. The 20 mm width gives you a common strap dimension to look for when shopping for alternatives, but confirm the attachment style and fit with the seller before ordering.
Movement, materials and water resistance
Automatic movement
Earthen specifies a Miyota 9039 automatic movement and approximately 42 hours of power reserve. An automatic watch runs from the motion of the wearer’s wrist and will stop if left unworn long enough to exhaust its reserve. The FAQ does not state an accuracy tolerance, service interval, or brand-specific repair network, so those details should not be inferred from the movement name alone.

Ceramic case and sapphire crystal
The company lists a ceramic case and sapphire crystal. Ceramic is central to the Summit’s distinctive material and color approach, but Earthen’s statement that it “doesn’t scratch” should not be read as a guarantee against all damage. The available specifications do not establish independent scratch, impact, or durability test results.
100 m water resistance
The listed 100 m / 10 ATM rating is a company specification. It is not a claim that every kind of water exposure is suitable, nor does the FAQ provide operating conditions or test details. If swimming or other water use matters to you, confirm the brand’s current guidance for the specific watch and ensure the crown and any seals are properly maintained.
Dial options and price
Earthen’s FAQ describes three Summit MK II dial variants. The official home page search listing showed Summit MK II Dawn Til Dusk, Blue Bird, and Whiteout at $899 USD; prices and stock can change, so check the current product collection before buying.
| Variant | Brand description | Consider if you prefer |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Bird | All-lume white dial | A bright, high-contrast look |
| Whiteout | White ceramic case with matte black dial | A light case paired with a dark dial |
| Overcast | Matte black ceramic case with a muted, dark alpine-inspired dial | A darker, more understated palette |
The FAQ does not provide detailed lume-performance data or comparative legibility measurements, so the descriptions above are best treated as appearance guidance rather than performance rankings.

Shipping, returns and warranty
Earthen’s FAQ states that delivery takes 5 to 10 days and that international delivery is free on orders over $500 USD. It says the brand ships globally except to Russia, Belarus, Pakistan, and Turkey. Destination taxes and duties vary: the company says US duties and taxes are collected at checkout under a policy marked effective March 12, 2026, while other destinations may collect local charges on delivery. Review the live shipping and policy details for your country before placing an order.
For a change-of-mind return or exchange, the FAQ gives 14 days from delivery to request it. The watch must be unused and unworn, in its original packaging, and the customer pays return shipping. Earthen describes a 12-month warranty for manufacturing defects, excluding damage from accidents, misuse, neglect, and ordinary aging. These are the company’s stated terms; confirm they remain current and ask the brand about any situation not covered by the FAQ.
Is the Earthen Co. Summit worth buying?
The Summit MK II may suit you if you want a compact automatic watch with a ceramic case, sapphire crystal, and a less conventional color palette, and if Earthen’s published dimensions and buyer terms work for you. Its 38 mm case and 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement give you concrete fit figures to compare against watches you own.
Take a more cautious approach if independent testing, a documented accuracy tolerance, detailed service guidance, or a longer return window is important to your decision. Those details are not established by the specifications and policy pages reviewed here. The Summit’s case material and performance language should likewise be weighed as brand claims rather than as independently verified results.
