What the EBEL 1911 Marine is
The Marine is the aquatic interpretation of EBEL’s 1911 design. EBEL says the 1911 collection debuted in 1986, marking the brand’s 75th anniversary. The Marine retains the collection’s angular case and five-link bracelet while adding a rotating bezel and a 200 m water-resistance rating. EBEL describes the five bezel screws as a reference to the five construction principles associated with Le Corbusier’s Villa Turque, and characterizes the design as “beauty marries function.” EBEL’s announcement provides the brand’s account of the heritage and design.

What the 200 m rating means
EBEL and Monochrome report a 20 ATM / 200 m rating. That is the published water-resistance specification, not a guarantee that every watch remains water-tight regardless of age or condition. The available launch information does not establish a specific diving certification, so the rating alone should not be taken as evidence of one. For a used example, have its water resistance checked before exposing it to water.

Price and availability
Monochrome Watches reported a launch price of CHF 2,600 for steel versions in 2022 and stated that availability was expected from December 2022. This figure is not a current quote. A current Marine-specific price, regional pricing and stock status are not established here; check an exact Marine reference with EBEL or a retailer before buying.
Take care not to confuse the Marine with other watches in the 1911 line. EBEL’s official listing for SKU 1216615 shows a different blue-dial 42 mm model with 100 m water resistance and a listed price of $3,200. It is not the 200 m Marine, and its price should not be used as the Marine’s.
