The current Farer Aqua Compressor Hecla is the Hecla Hunter Green Aqua Compressor Titanium Series III: a 41.5 mm Grade 2 titanium diver with an internal rotating bezel, a La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement and a manufacturer-stated 300 m water-resistance rating. Farer’s published specifications make it an unusually detailed take on the compressor-diver format, but they do not establish how accurately it runs, how it wears or how its bezel and seals perform in practice.
This is not the older blue-dial Hecla II. That watch has a different movement and should not be confused with the current green Series III.
What the current Hecla is
Farer names the current model the Hecla Hunter Green Aqua Compressor Titanium Series III. Its matte hunter-green dial has a stamped grid pattern, with luminous batons and Arabic numerals. The satin sunray-brushed case top contrasts with polished sides and back; oversized white hands and the internal bezel’s minute markings are specified with Grade X2 Super-LumiNova.
The twin crowns have crosshatched bronze caps. The upper crown sets the time, while the lower crown operates the internal bezel. A double-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating covers the dial, and a flat sapphire display back reveals the movement. Farer specifies a quick-release natural-rubber strap with a marine-grade titanium buckle.

How the compressor bezel works
The Hecla uses an internal rotating bezel rather than an exposed timing ring. Turning the lower crown moves the unidirectional bezel; the upper crown remains dedicated to setting the time. The bezel’s luminous minute markings let the wearer align the scale with the minute hand to track elapsed time.

Farer describes its Aqua Compressor construction as using external water pressure to compress case gaskets as depth increases. On the Aqua Compressor collection page, the brand says the movement crown arrangement remains water resistant to 100 m when unscrewed, while screwing it down compresses an additional gasket to secure the full 300 m rating. That is Farer’s explanation of the design, not evidence that an unscrewed crown is safe for swimming or that this individual watch has been pressure-tested independently.
Farer traces the super-compressor concept to Ervin Piquerez S.A. (EPSA) and says it was invented in the 1950s. The Hecla’s combination of pressure-responsive construction, titanium and an internal bezel gives the familiar dive-watch function a more mechanically distinctive layout.

Movement: the G101, not the Hecla II’s Sellita
The Hunter Green Series III uses the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101. Farer lists a 68-hour approximate power reserve, 24 jewels and a 4 Hz beat rate. The movement is visible through the display back. No independent rate test is established here, so the stated specification should not be taken as a guarantee of real-world accuracy.
The name “Hecla” also appears on an older, different model. Farer USA’s Hecla II listing describes a blue-dial watch with a Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré movement, 26 jewels and approximately 38 hours of reserve. It shares the titanium compressor-diver idea and broadly similar dimensions, but those movement and dial details do not apply to the current Hunter Green Series III.

Does the Hecla suit your wrist?
At 41.5 mm across, 45 mm lug-to-lug and 12.5 mm thick, the published dimensions provide a useful starting point for judging fit. The 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement is particularly helpful for estimating how the watch may span the wrist, while titanium may appeal to buyers who prefer that case material. Neither the dimensions nor the material establish how comfortable the watch will feel on a particular wrist; no independent wear assessment is available.
Farer gives a 20 mm lug width and publishes strap sizing ranges: short for wrists measuring 14–17.5 cm, regular for 16–22 cm, and long for 18–24 cm. The brand also presents an Aqua Compressor titanium bracelet as a pairing. The lug width alone does not establish compatibility with every third-party strap or bracelet, especially where end-link fit is involved.

Price, stock and buying details
Farer’s UK product page lists the Hecla Hunter Green at £1,250, while its EU listing gives a price of €1,465. The EU page advertises free shipping, a five-year guarantee and 30-day returns; these are regional storefront terms and may change. Check the current terms for your location before buying.
Availability is not clear-cut: inspected UK and EU product views showed sold-out or out-of-stock messages alongside separately labelled listing elements. Check the live product page and confirm that the listing is for the Hunter Green Series III, rather than the older Hecla II, before ordering. Farer’s regional pages are UK and EU.
What this review can—and cannot—establish
The specification sheet supports a strong case for the Hecla’s design proposition: a compact-for-a-300 m diver by its stated dimensions, titanium construction, internal unidirectional bezel and a movement with a longer stated reserve than the older Hecla II. It does not answer the practical questions that require hands-on or laboratory evaluation.
- Accuracy: Farer publishes the movement specification, but no independent rate test is established.
- Lume: Farer identifies the luminous materials, but no duration or brightness test is established.
- Bezel operation and comfort: Published design details do not establish the tactile feel or day-to-day wear experience.
- Water resistance: The 300 m / 30 ATM rating and gasket explanation are Farer’s claims; no independent pressure test is established.
Farer says a portion of Aqua Compressor profits supports the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust’s marine-life conservation work and upkeep of its research vessel, the Silurian. The brand’s current pages report £68,500 raised toward a £75,000 goal; Farer reports those figures, which are not presented as independently audited.
