The Farer Monopusher GMT Cobb and Segrave pair a hand-wound, one-pusher chronograph with a separately settable 24-hour GMT hand. Their listed case size, water resistance and power reserve are the same; the main choice is between the Cobb’s blue-and-cream dial and the Segrave’s monochrome layout, with different subdial positions and movement variants.

What does the monopusher do?

A monopusher chronograph uses one pusher to control the chronograph rather than separate start, stop and reset pushers. On both watches, the pusher sits at 2 o’clock. Farer identifies a central elapsed-seconds hand and a 30-minute counter as the chronograph displays. The available product description does not specify the full press sequence, so consult the model’s instruction manual for exact operation rather than assuming how repeated presses behave. Farer’s Monopusher GMT collection lists the functions; the Cobb III instruction manual covers winding, GMT/date setting and chronograph operation.

How the GMT display works

The local hour and minute hands show time on a 12-hour cycle. A separate, independently settable hand tracks a selected time on a 24-hour scale, making it possible to read a second time zone at a glance. Farer describes this arrangement in its GMT collection explanation. The exact setting procedure should be taken from the manual for the relevant model.

Cobb vs. Segrave: the differences

Feature Cobb Segrave
Dial Blue and cream Muted monochrome with color accents
Subdial positions 12 and 9 o’clock 12 and 6 o’clock
Movement Sellita SW530 M MP a, 25 jewels Sellita SW536 M MP, 29 jewels
Listed chronograph and GMT functions Monopusher chronograph, central elapsed-seconds hand, 30-minute counter and GMT Monopusher chronograph, central elapsed-seconds hand, 30-minute counter and GMT

Farer says the Segrave movement uses an additional gear train to reposition the small-seconds subdial, accounting for its higher jewel count. The different calibre variants support the different dial layouts; the listed core chronograph functions are the same. The published specifications do not establish that one model is more accurate or performs better than the other. Farer’s model specifications provide the movement and layout details.

  • GMT Swiss Watch: The practical GMT function makes it possible to display two time zones simultaneously thanks to an additional hand that makes one complete revolution in 24 hours and uses a bezel graduated over 24 hours to indicate a second time zone.
  • Movement: Automatic Mido Caliber 80 with Navichron balance spring which reduces magnetic interference and is remarkably robust against impacts and the effects of time. This caliber ensures exceptional autonomy of up to 80 hours.
  • Water Resistance: This Swiss-made MIDO timepiece is capable of withstanding pressures of up to 20 bar (200 m/660 ft), and equipped with a screw-down crown, this watch offers optimal protection against water.
  • Case Size: 44mm - Case Thickness: 13.38mm. Stainless steel case with blue ceramic bezel and Sapphire crystal with double sided anti-reflection treatment - Lug Width 22mm
  • Strap: Tapered, Blue Fabric Strap with Pin Buckle

Shared case and movement specifications

  • Case: 41 mm in diameter, 44 mm lug-to-lug and 14.5 mm thick. Farer says the double-domed sapphire crystal accounts for 2.25 mm of the total thickness.
  • Material and water resistance: steel case; manufacturer-stated water resistance of 100 m.
  • Winding and reserve: both are manually wound and listed with a 62-hour power reserve.
  • Beat rate: 4 Hz.

These are published product specifications, not independent test results. The 100 m rating alone does not establish suitability for a particular activity; follow Farer’s care and water-use guidance. Farer’s collection page gives the case, crystal and movement specifications.

Which one should you choose?

Choose by the dial treatment and subdial arrangement first: the Cobb puts one subdial at 9 o’clock and uses a blue-and-cream palette, while the Segrave moves that lower subdial to 6 o’clock and uses a muted monochrome design with color accents. Their calibre names and jewel counts differ, but the published information does not show a performance advantage for either. There is no comparative accuracy test or owner trial established here.

Strap sizing and model availability

Fratello’s launch coverage reports a 20 mm strap width, a useful starting point when searching for a replacement. Width alone does not confirm that a strap will fit: verify the attachment, length and material against the specific watch before buying. Fratello’s launch coverage lists the strap width.

No current retail price or availability for the Cobb or Segrave is established by the cited product information. Farer’s homepage is not evidence that either named model is currently in stock or discontinued.
