Its published specifications, prices and edition details describe the launch collection; water resistance is inconsistent across the brand’s pages and needs confirmation for a specific reference.
What is the ArtyA Purity Stairway to Heaven?
It is a 40 mm, time-only watch built around a visual idea rather than a conventional dial: the movement is extensively openworked, and the escapement appears suspended above the rest of the mechanism. ArtyA calls this arrangement “Stairway to Heaven.” Hours and minutes are displayed at 3 o’clock, offset from the exposed mechanics so the movement remains the focus.
The collection belongs to ArtyA’s broader Purity concept, which the company says it unveiled in 2021. ArtyA describes the Stairway to Heaven manufacture movement as a next step after three Purity tourbillons. The brand also places the watch in its 2009–2024 anniversary and official Geneva debut at Watches & Wonders. Separately, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) situates the related Stairway to Heaven HMS Wavy in the 2024 Watches and Wonders launch context; that corroboration concerns the Wavy model, not every detail of ArtyA’s company history. ArtyA captures the design challenge in its own words: “The pursuit of a watch that is both under 40mm in diameter and visually harmonious and pure – ArtyA saw it as a challenge that was both technical and aesthetic, where design aspirations and engineering imperatives are inextricably linked.” This is brand-authored copy, not a quotation attributed to a named individual.

What movement does the ArtyA Purity Stairway to Heaven use?
ArtyA describes a manually wound, openworked manufacture movement with two barrels working in parallel. The brand’s collection-level specifications list a 31.4 mm movement diameter, 7 mm thickness, 22 jewels, 134 components, 820 gf.mm torque, a frequency of 4 Hz and a 72-hour power reserve. These are manufacturer-published figures, not independently verified timing or reserve test results. The parallel-barrel architecture and exposed escapement are central to the watch’s identity: the movement is both the timekeeping system and the principal visual feature.
The watch is a two-hand design, not the three-hand configuration found in the later Wavy HMS. ArtyA’s original collection material describes hours and minutes at 3 o’clock; the central seconds hand belongs to the separate Wavy model.

How much does the ArtyA Purity Stairway to Heaven cost?
ArtyA’s launch material lists the stainless-steel version from CHF 24,900 excluding tax and ceramic versions from CHF 29,900 excluding VAT. A current steel product page also lists CHF 24,900. These are published prices, not a guarantee of current availability or the final price in a buyer’s market; confirm the amount, applicable taxes and the exact reference with ArtyA or an authorized retailer before purchase. The brand’s pages describe an initial Watches & Wonders launch edition of ten pieces per configuration, followed by 99 pieces per configuration. Which case and strap options are described?
The launch material names stainless steel, including an option with black PVD, and white, black, green or blue ceramic. Current collection and product listings show steel and ceramic executions with differing finishes and colors. ArtyA describes integrated rubber or hand-finished calfskin straps. The pages do not establish that third-party straps are compatible, so buyers should confirm fit for the chosen reference rather than assume a generic strap will work. What is the water resistance?
ArtyA’s published pages conflict. The collection page and narrative product descriptions state 50 m / 5 ATM, while the specification blocks on steel and ceramic product pages state 100 m. The brand does not explain the mismatch. Ask ArtyA to confirm the rating for the exact reference in writing before relying on it; do not infer suitability for swimming or diving from the higher figure. The Wavy HMS is a distinct three-hand development, not simply another name for the original two-hand launch watch. ArtyA lists a 40 mm sapphire case, 13 mm thickness, manual winding, at least 72 hours of reserve, 4 Hz frequency, 30 m water resistance and a limited series of 99 pieces. It adds central seconds, and ArtyA says Jérémie Arpa conceived the Wavy case. GPHG also lists the Wavy HMS as a 99-piece series.
