Reference 5054-0140-01S is a 43.6 mm, 300 m water-resistant automatic watch whose calibre 6654.P adds a complete calendar and moon phase—not just a date display.
What Blancpain announced
Blancpain announced reference 5054-0140-01S on 27 June 2024. Its press release calls the model “New Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune: Eternal Movement Beyond Black”; the Swatch Group archive carries the announcement and key specifications, while Blancpain’s Press Lounge lists the release date.
The watch’s defining visual is the contrast between black ceramic and a blue dial with a subtle gradient and sunray finish, as described by Blancpain. A black ceramic bezel frames the dial. Blancpain positions the Bathyscaphe as the more daily-use Fifty Fathoms, dating the Fifty Fathoms to 1953 and the Bathyscaphe to 1956; those dates are the brand’s historical framing in its launch release.

The calibre 6654.P drives the day, date, month and moon-phase indications. Blancpain says its calendar indications are safe to adjust at any time of day. The moon phase sits at six o’clock, giving this Bathyscaphe a more involved display than a conventional three-hand watch with a date.

The ceramic bracelet is the new feature
Blancpain describes the bracelet as the first high-tech ceramic bracelet in the Bathyscaphe line and says its link system is patented, using cam-shaped pins. The manufacturer characterizes the bracelet as highly scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic, nearly five times harder than stainless steel and 25% lighter. Those are Blancpain’s material comparisons; the release does not specify an independent test or comparison method.
The construction process helps explain why this is more than a material swap. Blancpain says the ceramic is fired above 1,400°C, with shrinkage accounted for during production, then machined with diamond tools and satin-brushed. The release also describes close tolerances for the links and individual finishing of the buckle and case. Blancpain says the cam-pin assembly makes the bracelet resistant and comfortable, a manufacturer claim rather than an independent wear assessment.

Blancpain lists ceramic, NATO and sailcloth configurations for the model. The announcement does not establish live availability or price differences between them, and it does not establish compatibility with aftermarket bracelets.
How it differs from other Bathyscaphe models
This reference combines ceramic construction with a complete calendar and moon phase. That distinguishes it both by material and by display from other Bathyscaphe configurations. Blancpain’s expanded ceramic Bathyscaphe line page describes flyback chronograph, three-hand-plus-date, and complete-calendar moon-phase models, with blue, green and black dials across the family; those broader options should not be read as specifications of reference 5054-0140-01S.

The official specification establishes a 43.6 mm diameter, but the consulted launch material gives no case thickness. That means the number alone cannot settle how the watch will sit on a particular wrist; it is not a substitute for trying the watch on.

The launch material identifies the reference and its design, movement and principal specifications. It does not establish a current retail price, current catalogue status, regional availability or stock. Those details can change since the June 2024 announcement and should be confirmed with Blancpain or a retailer before making a purchase decision.
