What makes the green Metropolis distinctive?
This is the green-dial version of Louis Erard’s Petite Seconde Metropolis collaboration with The Horophile, the watch-industry identity of Amr Sindi. Monochrome Watches reported that the pair had previously worked on a trilogy of Petite Seconde Metropolis watches with grey, salmon and tobacco-colored dials. The green variant carries forward the line’s Neo Deco vocabulary rather than introducing a new case shape.
The dial’s center is worked with closely spaced concentric grooves, or gadroons. Around it, a brushed chapter ring carries white stylized numerals; concentric circles frame the chapter ring and the small-seconds display at six. The seconds subdial has a dot at noon. Tapered, skeletonized main hands are called “Empire” hands in the article: Monochrome interprets their widening bases and pointed ends as an echo of the tiered profile of the Empire State Building. That is a design reading, not a claim of architectural provenance.
One unusual detail is the uncluttered dial: the article reports no logo or inscriptions on its face. Louis Erard and The Horophile are instead named by engravings on the caseback.

How does it wear on paper?
The 39 mm diameter is only one part of the fit picture: the reported 45.9 mm lug-to-lug measurement gives a more useful indication of how far the case spans across the wrist, while the 12.82 mm height describes its thickness. These are specification measurements, not a guarantee of fit; wrist shape and preference still matter. The polished steel case and domed crystal give the otherwise detailed dial a more formal presentation.
The supplied beige calfskin strap offers a light-toned contrast to the green dial, and its catch-spring bars are intended to make strap changes quicker. The source does not establish the lug width or whether particular third-party straps fit, so check dimensions and end fit before buying an alternative.

Movement, water resistance and everyday use
The Sellita SW261-1 is an automatic movement with small seconds, based on the SW200-1. Monochrome reports 31 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, a 38-hour power reserve and stop-seconds, which lets the seconds hand halt when setting the time. The reported functions are hours, minutes and small seconds; no date display is listed.
Water resistance is rated at 50 m. That figure is a specification, not a description of a tested use case or a recommendation for a particular water activity. Follow Louis Erard’s current guidance for the watch and have the seals checked as appropriate for its age and service history.

Price and availability: what is confirmed?
Rebecca Doulton’s Monochrome Watches first look, published August 22, 2024, reported a price of CHF 2,300 excluding taxes and described the green version as not limited and part of the permanent collection. Those details describe the launch-era announcement. They do not establish today’s price, stock, authorized-retailer availability or production quantity.
Louis Erard’s official homepage, inspected October 8, 2026, presents watch and accessory categories but does not confirm that reference 34248AA69.BVA158 is currently stocked. Check the exact reference with the brand or a retailer before treating a listing as available, and confirm that any listing is for the green model rather than a similar Metropolis variant.
