Announced on 6 November 2024 as reference 7077BB/GY/9XV, it pairs that unusual mechanism with a blue hand-guilloché dial and a 44 mm 18K white-gold case. The color gives the open, symmetrical display a new visual emphasis; the movement architecture remains the reason this 7077 is distinctive.
What changed on the blue 7077?
Breguet’s Tradition line draws on the company’s historic subscription and tact watches. The modern 7077 carries that lineage into an open dial, where the movement’s components and two balance wheels are part of the display. Breguet’s 6 November 2024 announcement presents blue as a way to accent the technical layout; the launch coverage identifies the main change from earlier silver-dial versions as the color.
The dial is gold, hand-guilloché with a Clous de Paris center, and finished with white Roman numerals and rhodium-plated Breguet open-tipped hands, according to Breguet. The blue and gray elements may help separate the indications visually, but legibility depends on lighting and the wearer. Fratello’s reviewer found the blue version’s visual hierarchy more effective than the silver dial’s in some lighting; that is a subjective impression, not a controlled legibility test.

These specifications are from Breguet’s official product page unless a source is attributed in the table. Fratello reports a 48.7 mm lug-to-lug measurement; Breguet’s product specification does not list that dimension.

How the independent chronograph works
The calibre 580DR has two fully separate gear trains: one drives hours and minutes, while the other runs the chronograph. The timekeeping balance beats at 3 Hz and the chronograph balance at 5 Hz. Breguet says the separation prevents chronograph operation from disturbing the main timekeeping train and allows tenth-second readings.
The chronograph does not use a conventional second barrel for its operating energy. Instead, resetting flexes a blade spring, storing energy for the next timing run. Breguet says the spring system can power up to 20 minutes of chronograph operation and uses a non-concentric gear to smooth torque. The company describes the blade-spring gear system as patented.

Two stop systems act on the titanium chronograph balance: one controls it at start and stop, while another halts it if there is not enough energy left for a complete operation. The reset sequence re-arms the chronograph. Breguet’s 7077 instruction manual states that timing stops automatically after 20 minutes; resetting stores energy for a subsequent run, so the user does not wind the chronograph separately.
Controls and water-resistance conditions
Breguet describes two screw-down pushers. The pusher at 4 o’clock starts timing; the other stops and resets the chronograph. Resetting also flexes and arms the blade spring for the next run.

The listed 3-bar (30 m) water resistance applies only with the crown in position 1 and both pushers screwed down, according to the manual. That rating alone is not guidance that the watch is suitable for swimming or diving.

At 44 mm across, 14.1 mm thick and 23 mm between the lugs, the 7077 has substantial published dimensions. Fratello gives its lug-to-lug length as 48.7 mm. Those measurements help frame a try-on, but they do not establish how the watch will sit on a particular wrist; prospective buyers should assess fit in person.

Breguet’s current product page does not show a recommended retail price and directs shoppers to contact a point of sale. Fratello reported €102,000 in its 26 November 2024 article, but that is a dated report, not a verified current quote. No current price is stated by the official page.
