The Daniel Roth Extra Plat Souscription is a 20-piece, time-only release in the brand’s signature double-ellipse case, made in 3N yellow gold and powered by a newly developed manual-wind movement. It was reported at launch in January 2025 for CHF 45,000 excluding taxes; Daniel Roth’s official page now marks the Souscription sold out.
What is the Daniel Roth Extra Plat Souscription?
It is a slim, manually wound dress watch that revisits Daniel Roth’s double-ellipse case in a limited 20-piece yellow-gold series. The model is time-only, with hours and minutes shown on a solid gold dial. The brand’s official product page identifies each watch by an individual number engraved on the caseback and repeated on the dial and movement.
The Souscription name distinguishes this specific small series; it should not be confused with the broader Extra Plat line or later variants.
Case and dial
- Case: 3N yellow gold, measuring 38.6 by 35.5 mm and 7.7 mm thick, according to Daniel Roth.
- Dial: solid yellow gold with Clou de Paris guilloché, which the brand says is made in-house.
- Water resistance: 30 m, per the official specification.
- Strap: calfskin, with a 20 mm lug width.
The 7.7 mm thickness is the defining practical detail behind the Extra Plat name: this is a deliberately thin, understated watch rather than a complication-led statement piece. Daniel Roth’s product page attributes the words “THERE IS NOTHING NICER THAN AN EXTRA THIN WATCH ON THE WRIST” to the watchmaker.

What movement does it use?
The watch uses the DR002, a manually wound manufacture movement. Daniel Roth says it was developed and assembled at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton under the supervision of Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini. The current official specification lists 143 components, 21 jewels, a frequency of 4 Hz, and approximately 65 hours of power reserve.
There is a published reserve discrepancy: Fratello’s January 22, 2025 hands-on report listed 70 hours, while the current brand product page specifies approximately 65 hours. The official figure is the appropriate current reference. Fratello’s report reflects its launch-era coverage, not a new inspection for this article.

- Gold & Stainless steel tone bracelet with foldover clasp with safety closure
- Water resistant to 200 m (660 ft): In general, suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not scuba diving.
How many were made, and what did it cost?
Daniel Roth’s official page identifies the Souscription as a 20-piece series. Fratello and Hodinkee both reported a launch price of CHF 45,000 excluding taxes in 2025. That is a historical launch price, not a current offer or an estimate of present resale value.
Is the Extra Plat Souscription still available?
No—the official Daniel Roth page currently displays “SOLD OUT.” This establishes the status of the brand’s own listing, but does not establish whether an authorized dealer has a watch or whether one is available on the secondary market. Current dealer inventory and resale prices have not been established here.

How it relates to later Extra Plat models
Fratello reported at launch that a non-limited Extra Plat was expected to follow. Daniel Roth’s later collection includes other Extra Plat variants, but they are separate models and should not be treated as evidence that the 20-piece Souscription is available.
For example, the brand’s platinum Extra Plat shares the 38.6 by 35.5 mm case dimensions, 7.7 mm thickness, DR002 movement, approximately 65-hour reserve, and 30 m water resistance. It is a separate platinum model, not the yellow-gold Souscription; its existence does not change the Souscription’s sold-out status.
