The new Dior Chiffre Rouge Chronograph pairs a gradient red dial with the collection’s asymmetric design and Cannage motif. Monochrome Watches reports a 41 mm case, a 100-piece limited edition and launch prices of €15,000 or US$17,000. Dior’s official pages confirm the broader Chiffre Rouge design language and provide specifications for related models, but do not independently confirm those exact red-edition details.
What makes the red-dial Chiffre Rouge distinctive?
Monochrome describes a gradient red dial that darkens toward its edge, with an embossed Cannage pattern, chronograph counters and red details on the hands. The date aperture sits at four o’clock. Together, those choices give the watch a busier, more graphic look than a conventional chronograph dial.
The design also draws on the Chiffre Rouge collection’s defining asymmetry. Dior says the collection, launched in 2004, uses an asymmetric two-part case and places the crown at four o’clock. Cannage, the motif associated with Dior’s signature woven-cane chairs, appears on collection dials and rotors; the collection also uses a red number 8 on the date disc. These are collection-level signatures, not a complete official specification for this particular red edition.
What is reported about the red edition?
Monochrome Watches reports a 41 mm case, a production limit of 100 pieces and prices of €15,000 and US$17,000. The publication date is not stated in the available result, and Dior’s pages do not independently verify the exact edition size, price or current availability. Treat the figures as reported launch information rather than confirmed current retail terms.

What Dior’s official specifications establish
Collection and movement context
Dior says Chiffre Rouge chronographs use movements from the Zenith El Primero family. Its 2025 announcement describes the CD.001 automatic movement for the models covered there, with a 5 Hz frequency, 36,000 oscillations per hour, a 50-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. Those figures apply to the announced models; the release does not establish that every detail is shared by the red chronograph in this first look.

The current gray 41 mm chronograph as a comparison
Dior’s current official listing for a gray 41 mm Chiffre Rouge Chronograph specifies a CD.001 automatic movement, a 48-hour power reserve, 5 Hz and 36,000 oscillations per hour. Its listed equipment includes a gray ultramatte steel case with a polished steel bumper, a notched gray bezel, a gray brass Cannage dial, a red chronograph pusher at four o’clock and a red chronograph seconds hand. Dior also lists chronograph seconds, 30-minute and hour counters, anti-glare sapphire crystal, 100 m water resistance and a five-year warranty for that gray reference.
Dior states that the gray model is compatible with 41 mm Chiffre Rouge interchangeable straps. That does not establish fit for the red edition: check the exact reference with Dior before choosing a replacement strap.

What to verify before buying
The red dial is the reason to consider this edition; the unresolved practical details are its official reference, current price and availability. Ask Dior or an authorized boutique to confirm those terms for the market where you intend to buy, along with the exact movement and technical specifications. If strap interchangeability matters, request confirmation for the red model’s reference rather than relying on compatibility stated for the gray chronograph.
For comparisons with other Chiffre Rouge watches, match the exact reference and market first. Then compare case material and size, dial and Cannage treatment, movement and counters, water resistance, strap compatibility, edition size, and the date and region attached to any quoted price. Dior’s regional listings and the difference between its gray product page and its 2025 announcement illustrate why specifications should not be transferred between references.

- SPORTY SOPHISTICATION: Capturing the refinement and elegance of the classic driver’s watch, the Champion collection is created for men with a taste for sporty sophistication. This chronograph with date function has a polished, angled case to catch the light, while the sunray dial with Tachymeter reflector ring is detailed with bombé indexes.
- QUALITY MATERIALS, EYE-CATCHING STYLE: Men's Champion, stainless steel case, white dial with index, brown leather strap.
- QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH MOVEMENT: Quartz watch movement is powered by a battery that charges and runs the watch. A chronograph type of watch that is used as a stopwatch combined with a display watch. A basic chronograph has an independent sweep second hand; it can be started, stopped, and returned to zero by successive pressure on the stem.
- DURABLE MINERAL CRYSTAL: Made from glass and protects watch from scratches.
- Water Resistance: Up to 100 meters (10 ATM): Suitable for swimming and snorkeling, not deep diving. The rating reflects pressure tolerance, not safe submersion depth.
A design statement, not a verified performance claim
Dior’s May 1, 2026 Japan announcement quotes Christian Dior describing red as “the color of life.” It is an apt expression of the brand’s use of red accents, but it is brand language rather than a technical assessment of the watch.
