The Eska Amphibian 250-WS White Shark is a 40 mm automatic dive watch with a Sellita SW200 movement, a 250 m water-resistance rating and a unidirectional bezel that turns in reverse. Eska lists it at €1,090 including tax. Its retro-inspired design and included pair of straps are appealing on paper, but the published specifications are the maker’s claims—not independent test results.
What is the Eska Amphibian 250-WS White Shark?
Eska describes the White Shark as a modern reinterpretation of its late-1950s Amphibian 600. The company says the White Shark has joined the Amphibian 250’s permanent collection. That heritage framing comes from Eska, rather than independent historical research. Eska’s Amphibian 250 collection page also says its watches are assembled in Besançon, France, with assembly, adjustments and checks carried out by its watchmakers there.
The model’s visual cues include a sandwich dial and oversized cardinal markers. Eska’s product description also uses some design language about the Black Shark; the White Shark-specific published specifications and identity are listed on its own product page. Eska characterizes the design as a return to the era of early underwater exploration watches, a brand statement rather than an independent historical conclusion.

How does the reverse-turning bezel work?
Eska describes the White Shark’s bezel as unidirectional and turning in reverse. “Unidirectional” means it is designed to rotate in one direction only; “reverse” describes that direction relative to the usual clockwise turn on many dive-watch bezels. The product information does not explain why Eska chose this direction, so its rationale should not be inferred.
A dive bezel is used to track elapsed time: align its marker with the minute hand at the start, then read elapsed minutes as the hand advances. On a conventional one-way dive bezel, an accidental movement can make the indicated elapsed time longer, not shorter—a conservative failure mode for tracking a dive. The White Shark’s reverse direction changes which way the bezel must be turned to set it; check the intended operation and alignment before relying on any dive watch for timing. Eska’s stated 250 m rating is not a substitute for confirming condition, use limits or suitability for a particular dive.

Movement, dimensions and water-resistance claims
Eska lists a Sellita SW200 with automatic winding, seconds stop, a 38-hour stated power reserve, 4 Hz frequency, 26 jewels and hours, minutes and seconds display. The product page does not establish the watch’s measured accuracy, regulation results or service interval.
The 40 mm diameter and 46 mm lug-to-lug give a more useful sense of footprint than diameter alone, while the 13.5 mm thickness indicates a relatively substantial profile. Actual wrist fit depends on wrist shape and preference; the published dimensions do not establish how the watch wears in person.

Eska states water resistance of 25 ATM / 250 m. This is a manufacturer rating, not an independently documented pressure test in the information available. It should not be read as evidence of real-world performance for a particular used or damaged example.

Eska lists a sturdy waterproof white transport box, a sand-colored Tropic-style bracelet, a two-strand NATO-type strap and a warranty card. The product information does not state a lug width or provide enough detail to confirm which aftermarket straps will fit, so check the dimensions with Eska before ordering replacements.

Eska’s product page listed the Amphibian 250-WS White Shark for €1,090 including tax when checked in 2026 and showed an add-to-cart option. Price, stock, shipping charges and taxes can vary by destination and change over time; confirm the final delivered cost and availability on the seller’s page before buying.
Eska states a two-year warranty and says customers should contact the company for return instructions if they encounter a problem. Review the current warranty terms and applicable consumer protections for your country before purchase.

The official information establishes a coherent specification sheet and a distinctive design proposition: a compactly dimensioned steel case, sandwich dial, sapphire crystal, automatic Swiss movement and an unusually reverse-turning one-way bezel. It does not establish independent build quality, timekeeping accuracy, actual water resistance, bezel feel, serviceability or relative value. A hands-on assessment or instrumented test would be needed to judge those aspects.
