The Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 Titanium 42 mm, reference 444.NX.1170.RX, brings the watchmaker’s openworked, manually wound MECA-10 concept into a smaller case than the original format. Its defining features remain in view: a skeletonized HUB1205 movement, a digital-style power-reserve display and a reserve Hublot lists at 10 days.
What is the Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 42mm?
It is a 42 mm version of Hublot’s Big Bang MECA-10, a design concept first introduced in 2016. Hublot announced the 42 mm collection on 21 January 2025 in three materials: titanium, King Gold and Frosted Carbon. This first look focuses on the titanium reference, 444.NX.1170.RX.
The titanium model pairs a satin-finished and polished titanium case and bezel with a matte black skeleton dial and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Hublot lists water resistance at 100 m / 10 ATM. The specified strap is black lined rubber, and the case incorporates Hublot’s One Click strap-changing system. Hublot does not establish compatibility or availability for every replacement strap, so confirm a strap against the exact reference before buying.

What is the power reserve on the Hublot Meca-10?
Hublot lists a 10-day power reserve for the HUB1205 manufacture manual-winding skeleton movement. Its display presents the remaining reserve as a day count, making the extended running time part of the watch’s visible mechanics rather than a hidden specification.
How the reserve display works
In its launch announcement, Hublot describes three linear bridges attached to the main plate and a digital day-counting reserve display driven by a rack system. The brand says the mechanism’s reserve exceeds ten days, but the display is capped at ten days because Hublot considers that the range of optimal chronometric performance. That is Hublot’s explanation of the design, not an independently verified performance finding.

The 2025 announcement also says the watch has a hacking-seconds mechanism for precise time-setting. In practical terms, the seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled to set the time, allowing the wearer to synchronize the display more precisely.
What changed with the 42 mm case?
The update’s central change is size: Hublot brought the MECA-10 into a 42 mm case while retaining its openworked movement and long-reserve display. That makes the new version more compact in diameter than the earlier MECA-10 format, but the cited official materials do not provide an independent wear test or comparative weight measurement. Case diameter alone cannot establish how the watch will sit on a particular wrist.
The three announced materials are distinct editions, not evidence of equal availability or identical configurations. Hublot specifies black lined rubber on the titanium product listing, while its launch release says the Frosted Carbon version is supplied on a black Velcro strap. No comparative weight figures or current market prices for these versions are established in those sources.
What is the reference number for the titanium Meca-10 42mm?
The titanium model’s reference is 444.NX.1170.RX. Use the full reference when checking a retailer listing, strap fit or product availability; the shared MECA-10 name also covers other case materials and configurations.
