The Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Time Eater III turns a conventional automatic regulator movement into a one-eyed character: hours appear at 12, minutes occupy the central hand, and seconds run on a toothed disc at 6. The 2025 release comes in blue at 42 mm and red at 39 mm; each version is limited to 178 pieces.

How the Time Eater III tells time

A regulator separates the time indications instead of placing conventional hour and minute hands together at the center. On the Time Eater III, the central hand shows minutes, a single eye at 12 indicates the hours, and a rotating toothed disc at 6 displays small seconds. The arrangement gives the watch its WristMonster expression while remaining a legible, mechanically familiar display.

The Japanese distributor connects the character concept to Likho, a one-eyed monster in Slavic folklore. The Time Eater III is the third Louis Erard–Konstantin Chaykin regulator collaboration. Their earlier collaboration used the same broad layout and was limited to 178 pieces, but that predecessor’s edition size does not establish the specifications or edition details of this release.

Blue 42 mm and red 39 mm: what differs?

The main choice is not diameter alone. The blue watch is longer across the wrist, while the red version is shorter but fractionally thicker. They also differ in dial accent color and strap material.

Both have polished stainless-steel cases, domed sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment, transparent casebacks, and a stated water-resistance rating of 5 bar (50 m). The red model’s 12.82 mm thickness exceeds the blue model’s 12.25 mm despite its smaller diameter.

Movement and everyday specifications

Both versions use the automatic Sellita SW266-1 regulator calibre. Monochrome Watches reported a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, 31 jewels, and an approximate 38-hour power reserve in its 2025 launch coverage. These are published specifications, not an independent performance test. The stated 5-bar rating is a specification; it should not be read as a guarantee of suitability for every water activity.

Choosing a size and strap

For fit, compare lug-to-lug length with the flat portion of your wrist as well as case diameter: the blue model measures 49.6 mm lug-to-lug, versus 45.9 mm for the red. The red watch is shorter but slightly thicker. The documented strap widths are 22 mm for blue and 20 mm for red; those measurements can guide a search for an alternate strap in the corresponding width.

The launch specifications identify quick-release bars, but do not establish universal compatibility with third-party straps. Check both the width and the watch-side attachment or end fitting before ordering an alternative.

Launch prices and availability

Monochrome Watches reported a launch price of CHF 4,450 excluding tax for either version in 2025. That is a historical launch figure, not a current quote or a tax-inclusive worldwide price. For Japan, distributor Osawa Shokai listed the blue reference LE85237AA90BGA087 at ¥1,089,000 including tax in its June 19, 2025 announcement and described a June 2025 Japanese release.

At launch, the blue 42 mm version was offered through Louis Erard and the red 39 mm version through Konstantin Chaykin, with availability reported from June 18, 2025. The Louis Erard Japan collection page showed Time Eater III entries as waitlisted when checked on October 8, 2026. That is a Japan storefront status only; it does not establish stock elsewhere or availability through the Chaykin channel.

Phillips’ Fall 2026 New York Sessions catalogue includes an example of a Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Time Eater collaboration. Auction catalogues can be useful for researching related models, but that listing does not establish that a Time Eater III is offered, nor does it establish a realized price or a buying opportunity.
