The Louis Erard x Vianney Halter Régulateur Chapter II pairs a time-only regulator display with an asymmetrical dial, warm red-gilt details and prominent rivets. It was released in two dial treatments, each limited to 178 pieces. Despite its visual link to Halter’s Antiqua, this is not the Antiqua perpetual calendar: the Chapter II displays hours, minutes and seconds, without that watch’s complications.
What makes the Chapter II distinctive?
The design’s central feature is its regulator layout: minutes are shown by a central hand, while the hours and seconds sit in separate off-centre indications. That division gives the dial an intentionally unbalanced, architectural look rather than the familiar arrangement of three hands meeting at the center. Monochrome Watches describes the dial’s asymmetrical arrangement and its mix of finishes.
The watch draws on the visual language of Vianney Halter’s Antiqua, including warm metal tones, raised dial elements with chamfered edges and rivet details. The bezel has 12 red-gilt rivets, and the crown at 2 o’clock is also decorated with rivets. Those references are aesthetic, not mechanical: the Chapter II is a time-only regulator, not an Antiqua perpetual calendar. Hodinkee’s introduction likewise distinguishes the simpler regulator from Halter’s more complicated work.
Two dial treatments, two references
The two versions share the same movement and case specifications. Their differences are the dial treatment and the sales channel reported at launch.

The two references are not presented as mechanically different. If you are comparing listings, check the full reference number rather than relying on a dial photograph or a seller’s shorthand description.
Case, movement and practical dimensions
Both editions use a three-part stainless-steel case measuring 43 mm across and 10.95 mm thick. Monochrome Watches reports polished and circularly satin-brushed surfaces, a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment and a transparent caseback. Water resistance is reported as 50 m.

The automatic Sellita SW266-1 runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a reported 38-hour power reserve. These specifications, along with the regulator display, are reported by Monochrome Watches and Hodinkee.
Hodinkee gives the case a 49.6 mm lug-to-lug measurement. Monochrome reports a 22 mm leather strap at the lugs. The width is a useful starting point if considering another strap, but it does not establish that a particular replacement will fit: attachment details and the replacement’s dimensions still need checking.

At introduction in 2024, the reported price was CHF 4,444 excluding tax, according to Monochrome Watches and Hodinkee. That is historical launch pricing, not a confirmed current retail price or quote.
Christie’s lists a circa-2025 example of reference 85246AA03.BVA172 with an estimate of HKD 24,000–48,000. This is the estimate for that individual auction lot, not a realized result or a market-wide valuation. The available price reports do not establish the Chapter II’s current stock status or present-day value.
