The Formex Essence Space Ghost 41 mm pairs a one-of-a-kind Muonionalusta meteorite dial with a 41 mm stainless-steel sports-watch case and an adjustable bracelet clasp. Formex’s current product page lists a Sellita SW200-2 Power+ with a 65-hour reserve, while August 2025 launch coverage described an SW200-1 with a 41-hour reserve. Those are different published specifications, so buyers should confirm the movement fitted to the particular watch and batch.
What is the Essence Space Ghost 41 mm?
It is a 41 mm version of Formex’s Essence automatic chronometer, distinguished by a dial cut from Muonionalusta meteorite. The model sits between the 39 mm and 43 mm Essence formats, according to Monochrome Watches’ August 2025 launch coverage.
Formex CEO Raphael Granito said the new case size was partly a response to community feedback. Europa Star reproduced his statement in its August 2025 coverage.

These are the dimensions and materials stated on Formex’s current product page. The case includes Formex’s patented Case Suspension System: the company describes four springs between case components, intended to absorb shock and add comfort. That is the maker’s design intent, not a published comparative test result.

A meteorite dial that differs from watch to watch
Each dial is cut from Muonionalusta meteorite. Its naturally occurring Widmanstätten pattern—the intersecting geometric structure visible in the metal—varies from one dial to another, so no two examples have precisely the same pattern. Formex says it worked with Cadranor on a proprietary treatment to protect the material while preserving its texture and silvery appearance. The company attributes an age of approximately 4.5 billion years to the meteorite.
Blued hands and indices provide contrast against the dial; Formex specifies BGW9 Super-LumiNova on both. The individual pattern is part of the appeal, but it also means product photographs cannot show exactly how every delivered watch will look.

Movement: two published specifications to reconcile
The movement specification depends on which source and date you consult. Formex’s current listing identifies the watch as using a Sellita SW200-2 Power+ automatic movement, chronometer grade and COSC certified, with 26 jewels and a 65-hour power reserve. It also lists a date display, custom skeletonized rotor, brushed decoration and blued screws.
By contrast, Monochrome’s article dated 14 August 2025 reported the launch configuration as a Sellita SW200-1 with 26 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 41-hour reserve. This is a discrepancy between launch-era reporting and Formex’s current page, not evidence that every watch has the same movement or that one specification applies to all batches. If the exact movement matters, ask Formex or the seller to confirm the reference and batch of the specific example before purchase.

Bracelet clasp and strap choices
Steel bracelet
The bracelet clasp has three on-the-fly settings: 0, 3 and 6 mm. Formex says the wearer can adjust it on the wrist without opening the clasp. This offers a choice of three discrete extensions rather than an unspecified continuous adjustment range.
Straps
Formex lists nylon, leather and rubber strap options. The strap configuration uses a carbon-fiber deployant clasp with gradual micro-adjustment; Monochrome reported 7 mm of adjustment for that strap clasp. Formex says both bracelet and straps use tool-free quick release. Check the chosen configuration with the seller, since bracelet-clasp adjustments and strap-clasp micro-adjustment are different systems.

Price and availability
Formex says production is limited to annual batches of 150 pieces. Its current product page displays CHF 2,060 and reports that the 2026 batch sold out during early access, before public sales. The company says some pieces may remain at trusted dealers and that shipments to secured buyers were expected from early July 2026. Because price and availability can change, check the current listing or an authorized seller for the status of a particular watch.
For context, Monochrome reported launch prices in August 2025 of €2,090 on leather, nylon or rubber strap and €2,190 on bracelet, with preorders opening 14 August and deliveries expected from mid-September 2025. These are dated launch prices in euros, not a current price comparison with Formex’s CHF listing.

- Movement: Confirm whether the specific watch is fitted with the SW200-1 or SW200-2 Power+, and ask which reserve specification applies.
- Configuration: Verify whether the price is for a bracelet or strap, and which strap and clasp are included.
- Fit: Use the 41 mm diameter, 46.5 mm lug-to-lug length and 22 mm lug width to assess the case against a watch you already wear.
- Availability: Ask Formex or the seller to confirm stock and delivery timing; the current page reports the 2026 batch sold out but notes possible dealer stock.
- Dial appearance: Request a photograph of the actual watch if you want to see its specific meteorite pattern.
