Its defining feature is a central chronograph seconds hand that accelerates through the first 15 seconds of a timed minute before slowing for the remainder—a mechanical interpretation of the Porsche 911’s rally-era acceleration, not a live performance measurement.
What makes the Porsche Rallye edition different?
TAG Heuer frames the watch as a tribute to Porsche’s participation in the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally with the recently launched 911. The brand connects its styling to Porsche 911 “147,” the rally car, and to a calculated 0–100 km/h time of 8.4 seconds. TAG Heuer contrasts that figure with 9.1 seconds for the initial 1963 Porsche 901. These are figures and historical framing published by TAG Heuer, not acceleration tests conducted for this article. TAG Heuer’s product page identifies the steel watch as CBS2015.EB0381, while its January 21, 2025 feature explains the Rallye tribute and edition totals.

A dial built from racing references
The black shimmering dial takes inspiration from Heuer Master Time and Monte Carlo stopwatches from 1965. Beige markings refer to the steering wheel of the rally car, while the dial’s finish evokes its bodywork. Azuré subdials are framed by contrasting silver rings. Red lines on the dial visualize the chronograph hand’s acceleration.

How does the Chronosprint hand work?
When the chronograph is running, its central seconds hand covers the first 15 seconds of each timed minute at an accelerated rate, then slows to complete the rest of its circuit. TAG Heuer’s brochure describes a distinctive chronograph module developed in connection with the Porsche partnership and two snail-shaped wheels. The motion is a mechanical design evoking acceleration; it does not sense or report a car’s speed or road performance.
The chronograph also includes a quarter-second indication, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter. The unusual hand motion changes how elapsed time is displayed, but the watch remains a mechanical chronograph rather than an electronic performance instrument.

Case, movement and specifications
TAG Heuer’s US listing specifies an automatic in-house Calibre TH20-08 movement with an 80-hour power reserve. The case is steel, measures 42 mm across and 14.9 mm thick, and has a listed lug distance of 22.1 mm. Water resistance is rated to 100 m. The caseback combines sapphire and steel; TAG Heuer says the Carrera’s double-glassbox construction provides views from the front and back, including a Porsche-inspired rotor through the caseback.

Price and availability
On October 5, 2026, TAG Heuer’s US product page listed the steel model at $10,650 and marked it “Out of stock online.” That is a time-sensitive US listing, not a universal price or a guarantee of availability through boutiques or other sellers.
