Its clearest update over the 2013 original is a smaller 39.5 mm bezel diameter, down from 42.1 mm. Mk II lists 200 m water resistance, a Japanese Miyota automatic movement, and a choice of date or no-date configuration. The standard no-date, 60-minute-bezel model was listed at $995 but marked sold out on Mk II’s site on October 4, 2026.
What is the Mk II Fulcrum 39?
The Fulcrum 39 is the second iteration of Mk II’s Fulcrum, a watch the brand describes as an interpretation of vintage military dive-watch design. The original appeared in 2013; the newer model reduces the bezel diameter from 42.1 mm to 39.5 mm. Monochrome’s January 2025 first look characterized it as an accessible mil-spec diver, but the evidence supports a more precise description: a military-inspired tool watch, not a watch shown to have been procured, issued, or certified to a military specification.
Mk II frames the design around watches that U.S. Special Forces personnel might have encountered in Vietnam or during training with British counterparts. The manufacturer calls the result “a tool watch that wasn’t designed explicitly for the military but could have found a place there.” That is design intent and imagined context, not service history.
What are the Fulcrum 39’s dimensions and specifications?
Mk II’s official listing for the non-date, 60-minute dive-bezel model gives these specifications:

Which movement and configuration should you choose?
Mk II lists the Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic movement in date versions and the Miyota 90S5 in no-date versions. The maker says both can be hand-wound and hacked, and that each watch is timed in three positions. Mk II specifically notes that the 90S5 has no ghost date position—the unwanted date-setting position some no-date watches retain.
Monochrome reports a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 42-hour power reserve for the movements. Those are reported movement specifications, not a published Fulcrum-specific laboratory test.

How does it wear, and what strap fits?
The 39.5 mm bezel, 47 mm end-to-end length, and 20 mm lug width give a more useful picture of fit than diameter alone. The bracelet has quick-release spring bars and tapers from 20 mm at the lugs to a 16 mm clasp. Monochrome also describes black rubber and black or khaki nylon strap options.

A 20 mm strap is the nominal width to look for, but lug width by itself does not guarantee that every third-party strap or spring bar will attach properly. Confirm the attachment style and clearance for the specific strap you plan to use.
What does it cost, and is it available?
Monochrome reported a full-package launch price of USD 995 and orders opening January 31, 2025. Mk II’s official product page displayed $995 and marked the standard non-date, dive-bezel model “Sold Out” when accessed on October 4, 2026. That is an availability snapshot, not a restock forecast; the page directs visitors to its newsletter for restock schedules.

What do independent reviews say?
Worn & Wound’s March 5, 2025 hands-on review reflects an individual reviewer’s mixed reaction: the reviewer called the Fulcrum 39 their least favorite Mk II watch to date, while also saying it was not a bad watch and could appeal to a dedicated audience. That is one reviewer’s taste, not a market consensus or a measured reliability finding.
Monochrome’s product-page excerpt offers a more positive styling impression, saying the bead-blasted steel’s understated looks “easily transition from dive boat to dinner table and everywhere in between.” That is an attributed opinion, not a performance test.
What should you compare before buying?
For a useful comparison with another dive-style watch, check more than the headline diameter and water-resistance number. Compare the exact bezel function, thickness and end-to-end length, date or no-date movement, lug width, crystal and bezel-insert materials, included bracelet or straps, and the current price and stock status. Separately distinguish a design inspired by military watches from a watch with documented military issue or qualification.
Mk II’s 200 m rating, screw-down crown, and unidirectional bezel are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish performance after wear or damage, nor do they amount to an independent underwater test. The reviewed material provides no model-level sales, reliability, accuracy, or customer-satisfaction statistics.
