The Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton White Ceramic pairs a 41 mm white ceramic case and bracelet with a blue openworked El Primero movement. Its distinguishing display is at six o’clock: a small indicator that tracks tenths of a second, rather than a conventional central seconds hand.

What is the Zenith Defy Skyline White Ceramic Skeleton?

It is the white-ceramic version of the 41 mm Defy Skyline Skeleton, reference 49.9301.3620/79.I001. ZENITH’s official product page identifies the model and reference. The July 2024 launch announcement describes the white ceramic exterior as a first for the Defy Skyline collection and presents the line as a modern successor to the original 1969 Defy; those are the manufacturer’s own framing claims.

The design contrasts a white octagonal case and faceted, dodecagonal bezel with a blue-toned openworked dial. The dial opening follows ZENITH’s four-pointed star motif, revealing the blue El Primero 3620 SK skeleton calibre. ZENITH describes the ceramic as highly scratch-resistant and the case surfaces as alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes; that durability description is a manufacturer claim, not an independent scratch-test result.

How does the 1/10th-of-a-second indicator work?

The hours and minutes are shown by central hands. At six o’clock, a separate indicator displays tenths of a second. ZENITH’s July 2024 announcement says it is driven directly by the movement’s 5 Hz escapement and completes one rotation every 10 seconds. In that announcement’s words, the watch has “a 1/10th of a second indicator that’s driven directly from the 5Hz escapement.”

That is different from a conventional central seconds hand, which makes one revolution per minute and is read in whole seconds. Here, the quickly moving subdial is the mechanism’s dedicated fractional-second display. The specification explains what the indicator is designed to show; it should not be mistaken for an independently verified timing test.

What are the movement and core specifications?

The figures below are ZENITH technical specifications reproduced in its July 2024 product announcement; they are published product data, not independent measurements.

Specification Published detail
Reference 49.9301.3620/79.I001
Case diameter 41 mm
Movement Automatic El Primero 3620 SK skeleton calibre
Frequency 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz)
Power reserve Approximately 55 hours
Water resistance 10 ATM (100 metres)
Other listed features Silicon escape wheel and lever; screw-in crown; stop-second mechanism for time setting

The hands and hour markers are specified as faceted, rhodium-plated and coated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1. The 10 ATM rating is the published specification; it does not establish suitability for every water activity, and no independent water test is available here.

What comes with the watch?

The 2024 announcement lists a white ceramic bracelet with folding clasp and a patterned white rubber strap with its own folding clasp. It describes the quick-change system as tool-free, allowing the wearer to switch between the two supplied configurations without a strap-changing tool.

What did it cost at launch, and is that the current price?

ZENITH’s technical specifications reproduced in the July 2024 announcement listed a price of 16,900 CHF. That is a release-era quoted price, not a verified current asking price or a converted price for another currency. The announcement said the watch was available in small quantities through ZENITH boutiques, online boutiques and authorised retailers worldwide at launch. That 2024 distribution statement does not confirm stock in 2026 or availability in any particular market; the official product page identifies the reference but does not establish a current price or regional stock status.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
