Zenith marked its 160th anniversary in 2025 with three blue ceramic chronographs: the Chronomaster Sport, DEFY Skyline Chronograph and PILOT Big Date Flyback. Each was limited to 160 pieces. They share a high-frequency chronograph lineage and a blue ceramic look, but their cases, displays, movements and strap options make them distinct choices.

What the trilogy includes

Zenith presented the watches individually and as a special anniversary box. The brand named its boutiques, online boutique and authorized retailers as sales channels; that launch announcement does not confirm present-day stock. This is a specifications-led first look, not a hands-on assessment.

The central design idea is a monochromatic blue ceramic treatment across three established chronograph lines. Zenith says ceramic is lightweight, smooth to the touch, biocompatible and highly scratch-resistant. The brand also emphasizes the difficulty of achieving this particular blue and shaping and finishing ceramic components; the cited launch material does not provide independent material testing.

Zenith CEO Benoît de Clerck described blue as a defining part of the brand’s identity and said the anniversary trilogy gave the color “a new dimension” through ceramic chronographs.

PILOT Big Date Flyback 160th Anniversary

42.5 mm microblasted blue ceramic case; El Primero 3652 at 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour); 60-hour power reserve. Titanium crown and pushers. Flyback chronograph, big-date display, and blue and white straps. Zenith says its patented date mechanism changes in 0.007 seconds. US$15,500, reported by Monochrome Watches in 2025; not a verified current quote.

Monochrome Watches reported 100 m water resistance for all three. That rating is a specification, not evidence that any of these chronographs is purpose-built as a dive watch.

Chronomaster Sport: the compact, classic-layout option

At 41 mm, the Chronomaster Sport is the smallest of the trio by stated case diameter. Its tri-color counters preserve a familiar El Primero visual signature, while the 1/10-second scale foregrounds the movement’s high-frequency timing. The date sits at 4:30. Its blue ceramic bracelet is joined by an extra blue rubber strap, giving the owner an alternative to the integrated-bracelet look.

DEFY Skyline Chronograph: angular case, star-pattern dial

The 42 mm DEFY Skyline pairs a blue ceramic case and bracelet with a star-pattern dial. It shares the El Primero 3600, 1/10-second display and 60-hour reserve with the Chronomaster Sport, but presents those mechanics in the Skyline’s more geometric design. Its quick-change system and included rubber strap make switching away from the ceramic bracelet part of the package.

PILOT Big Date Flyback: the added complications

The PILOT is the largest by stated diameter at 42.5 mm and the only model in the trilogy with the El Primero 3652. Its flyback chronograph allows timing to be reset and restarted in one action, while the large date gives the dial a second prominent function beyond chronograph timing. Zenith says the patented date mechanism changes in 0.007 seconds. The case is microblasted blue ceramic, with titanium used for the crown and pushers; blue and white straps are included.

What the shared specifications do—and do not—tell you

The Chronomaster Sport and DEFY Skyline Chronograph use the El Primero 3600, while the PILOT Big Date Flyback uses the El Primero 3652. All three are specified at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz) and a 60-hour power reserve in the cited launch coverage. Those shared figures establish a common high-frequency foundation, but they do not make the displays or functions interchangeable: the PILOT alone adds flyback operation and the big-date mechanism.

For a wrist-fit decision, compare the stated diameters—41, 42 and 42.5 mm—with the case shape and bracelet or strap configuration. Diameter alone does not establish how a watch will wear, and the available launch specifications do not provide a comparative thickness or lug-to-lug figure here.

Launch pricing and buying context

Monochrome Watches’ 2 April 2025 first look reported US prices of $22,700 for the Chronomaster Sport, $23,800 for the DEFY Skyline Chronograph and $15,500 for the PILOT Big Date Flyback. Treat these as launch-era reported figures, not current offers. Zenith’s announcement identified its boutiques, online boutique and authorized retailers as sales channels, but does not establish current inventory. When checking a listing, match the full reference number above and verify the seller and present price directly.
