When is the Fitbit Charge 7 coming out?
Google and Fitbit have not provided a public Charge 7 launch window, so there is currently no reliable answer beyond “not officially announced.” A predicted month, year, pre-order date, or retailer listing should not be presented as a confirmed release date unless Google or Fitbit publishes it directly.

Is Fitbit Charge 7 canceled?
There is no official evidence in the reviewed sources that Fitbit Charge 7 has been canceled. The evidence supports the narrower conclusion that Fitbit Charge 7 has no officially confirmed release date as of August 13, 2026.
The absence of an announcement does not prove that Google has abandoned the Charge brand, stopped developing a screen-equipped tracker, or will never release another Charge model. Conversely, Google’s current product direction does not establish that Charge 7 exists. The accurate wording is “Fitbit Charge 7 has no officially confirmed release date,” not “Fitbit Charge 7 is definitely canceled.”

Fitbit Air is not a direct Charge 7 equivalent. Charge-style trackers have an on-wrist display, while Fitbit Air is screenless. A screenless device may suit someone who wants less on-device interaction, but it cannot be treated as a confirmed successor to a display-based Charge tracker without an official statement from Google or Fitbit.
Google’s support documentation also says that the Fitbit app became the Google Health app beginning May 19, 2026, and specifically references support for Charge 5 and Charge 6. Google Health’s support documentation confirms current software support references, but it does not confirm a Charge 7 launch or cancellation.
What does Fitbit Charge 6 offer while readers wait?
Fitbit Charge 6 is the practical current Fitbit Charge alternative for readers who need a tracker rather than an unconfirmed release timetable. Google announced Charge 6 on September 28, 2023, with a U.S. pre-order price of $159.95 and worldwide availability planned for later that fall. Availability and current pricing can vary by country and retailer.
The Google/Fitbit Charge 6 product announcement documents built-in GPS, more than 40 exercise modes, Google Maps, Google Wallet, YouTube Music controls, sleep and stress metrics, connection to selected gym equipment, and ECG functionality in supported countries.
| Charge 6 consideration | What Google documented | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Navigation and payments | Google Maps and Google Wallet | Phone, account, country, compatibility, and service requirements may apply |
| Workout tracking | Built-in GPS and more than 40 exercise modes | Results and connected features depend on use conditions and compatible equipment |
| Heart-related features | ECG in supported countries and improved vigorous-activity heart-rate tracking | ECG availability depends on geography and regulatory support; Google’s accuracy claim is manufacturer-reported |
| Battery | Up to seven days | “Up to seven days” is Google’s claim under its stated testing and usage conditions, not a guarantee for every user |
| Music | YouTube Music controls | Compatible phone, account, and subscription conditions may apply |
Google/Fitbit reported that Charge 6 delivered “up to 60% more accurate” vigorous-activity heart-rate tracking than Charge 5. The claim came from Google’s pre-production testing of high-intensity interval training, spinning, and rowing, so it is a manufacturer-reported comparison rather than independent testing.

Should you wait for Fitbit Charge 7 or buy Charge 6?
Buy a currently available tracker such as the Fitbit Charge 6 fitness tracker if you need GPS, an on-device display, or workout and health tracking now. Wait for Charge 7 only if you are comfortable with an indefinite timetable and are specifically seeking a possible future model rather than a confirmed product.

What should readers believe about rumored Charge 7 dates?
Readers should treat every precise Charge 7 date outside official Google or Fitbit channels as unconfirmed. Rumor videos, forum posts, retailer placeholders, alleged leaks, and predicted annual launch schedules may suggest possibilities, but none establishes a release date.
A trustworthy update would normally include an official Google or Fitbit announcement identifying the product, launch or pre-order timing, price, and availability. Until that happens, the defensible answer to “Will there be a Fitbit Charge 7 in 2026?” is that no official Charge 7 release date has been announced as of August 13, 2026.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What would confirm a Charge 7 launch?
- An official Google or Fitbit product announcement naming Charge 7.
- A published launch date or pre-order date from Google or Fitbit.
- Official pricing and regional availability information.
- A specifications or support page documenting the device and its supported features.
Until those details appear, Fitbit Charge 6 remains the latest confirmed Charge product, and Fitbit Air remains a separate screenless alternative highlighted by Google. Neither fact supplies a Charge 7 release date.
