The Fitbit web dashboard was permanently discontinued on July 8, 2024. It is no longer a temporary browser outage, and clearing your cache will not bring back the old fitbit.com/dashboard experience. Fitbit devices and services continue under Google, but the documented consumer replacement is the mobile Google Health app—not a new desktop dashboard.

The short answer

The confusion comes from two separate events. In April 2024, Fitbit users encountered a blank web dashboard. Google acknowledged that loading problem on April 23 and said it had been fixed by April 25. Later, however, Fitbit retired the consumer web dashboard altogether on July 8, 2024. 9to5Google reported the original outage and fix, while a Fitbit Community notice distinguishes the dashboard retirement from the developer API.

So if fitbit.com/dashboard is blank, redirects, or no longer provides your familiar graphs, that is not evidence of a browser problem. The service itself has been retired.

What happened to Fitbit’s website?

  1. April 2024: Some users saw a blank Fitbit dashboard in their browsers.
  2. April 23, 2024: Google acknowledged the loading issue and said it was working on a fix.
  3. April 25, 2024: Google said the blank-page problem had been fixed.
  4. July 8, 2024: The consumer Fitbit web dashboard was discontinued.
  5. May 19–26, 2026: The Fitbit mobile app transitioned for most users to the Google Health app.

The April incident did not prove that Fitbit was about to shut down. At that point, the shutdown concern was speculation. The later July 2024 retirement confirmed that the broader concern about the web dashboard was justified, but it was a separate decision from the temporary blank-page bug.

What disappeared?

The retired service was the signed-in, browser-based dashboard at fitbit.com/dashboard. Users historically used it to:

  • Review daily totals and historical activity data.
  • Inspect graphs and detailed activity records.
  • Log food, exercise, sleep, and other information.
  • Manage dashboard tiles and goals.
  • View Fitbit information on a large desktop or Chromebook screen.

This does not mean that every Fitbit web service disappeared. The consumer dashboard and the Fitbit Web API were separate products with separate timelines.

What should Fitbit users use now?

Google’s documented consumer destination is the Google Health app, which replaced the Fitbit app during the 2026 transition. It is available through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, subject to regional availability.

Existing Fitbit users should:

  1. Install or update the Google Health app.
  2. Sign in with the Google Account associated with the Fitbit transition.
  3. If the Fitbit account is still separate, follow the in-app account-migration instructions.
  4. Confirm that each Fitbit device appears in the app.
  5. Use the Today, Fitness, Sleep, and Health tabs to review available information.

Google Health is a mobile-app replacement, not a restoration of Fitbit’s old browser dashboard. The sources reviewed do not establish an official, full-featured desktop equivalent.

What changed in Google Health?

The transition was more than a name change. Google’s support documentation lists several renamed, reorganized, or removed features:

  • Health Metrics moved under Vitals.
  • Menstrual health was renamed Cycle health.
  • Stress Score was replaced by Resilience, described as Optimal, Balanced, or Low.
  • Fitbit Premium was renamed Google Health Premium.
  • Stress-check graphs are no longer available in the mobile app.
  • Minute-by-minute skin-temperature data is no longer available, although daily and weekly trends remain.
  • Food Plans calorie targets and Premium recipes are no longer supported.
  • New Fitbit badges are no longer generated, and historical badges are deleted.
  • Direct messages, Groups, and the Community Feed were removed or changed.
  • Some third-party connections, including Strava and Withings, may need to be updated or reauthorized.

These changes belong to the later Google Health transition and should not all be attributed to the 2024 web-dashboard shutdown.

What happened to historical Fitbit data?

Google says users can manage, export, or delete Google Health data through the Google Health app settings or their Google Account. Google also said data associated with features being removed was available for download or deletion until July 15, 2026, after which it would begin deleting that data from its systems.

That statement should not be generalized to mean that every historical Fitbit record is being deleted. It refers to data associated with affected features. If particular activity, sleep, temperature, badge, or social records matter to you, use the current Google Health and Google Account data controls and download what is available rather than assuming the old views will remain.

An export should not be assumed to reproduce the old dashboard, preserve every graph, or contain every data type in a convenient format.

  • Designed for every occasion: With no screen to distract you or disrupt your style, your tracker moves seamlessly from bracelet to workout band to sleep band, and you can change looks in seconds – just press the pebble in, click, and go
  • Long battery life: Google Fitbit Air’s battery lasts up to a week, and fast charging gets you one day of battery life in just five minutes[6,7]

Can Fitbit still be used on a computer?

The old consumer dashboard cannot. Google’s documented replacement is phone-first, and the available sources do not verify a full official browser dashboard.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For desktop analysis, the practical options are:

  • Export available data from Google Health or your Google Account.
  • Open the exported files in a spreadsheet or data-analysis program.
  • Use a third-party dashboard only after checking its identity, privacy policy, permissions, storage practices, pricing, support status, and data-retention terms.

Do not assume an unofficial dashboard is endorsed by Fitbit or Google, will remain available, or will reproduce the old interface. Services that require Google Account authorization also deserve particular scrutiny.

Developers: the Web API has a separate deadline

The retirement of fitbit.com/dashboard did not shut down the Fitbit Web API at the same time. The API is a developer service used by applications and research integrations, not the dashboard ordinary users opened in a browser.

Google says the Fitbit Web API evolved into the Google Health API. The new API uses Google OAuth 2.0, and Google’s documentation listed the legacy Fitbit Web API for turn-down in September 2026. Existing integrations therefore need to migrate rather than assume that a working old API connection will continue.

This is not a shutdown of Fitbit devices. It is a technical migration for developer integrations. Google also says that Fitbit devices and Google Pixel watches are supported, although the available data depends on each device’s capabilities. API scopes may be restricted and can require privacy or security review.

If current Fitbit data is missing

A missing historical dashboard and a current syncing problem are different issues. For current data:

  1. Open Google Health and check whether the device is listed.
  2. Confirm that you are signed in to the expected Google Account.
  3. Check whether third-party connections such as Strava, Withings, Health Connect, or Apple Health need reauthorization.
  4. Check the Google Health Status Dashboard for an active service incident.
  5. Use Google Health support for ordinary device-sync troubleshooting.

A service-status incident, such as the device-sync incident recorded on July 15, 2026, does not restore or reinstate the retired web dashboard.

Is Google Health Premium the replacement for the dashboard?

No. Google Health Premium is a separate paid tier for coaching and other premium features. Google announced a price signal of $9.99 per month or $99 per year, but Premium does not appear in the reviewed documentation to restore the old web interface.

Subscribe only if its coaching features are useful to you—not because you expect it to bring back the desktop dashboard.

What this means for desktop-focused users

The biggest change is not simply that a URL stopped working. Fitbit’s old browser workflow served people who wanted a large screen for historical analysis, accessibility, caregiving, research, or easier data entry. Google’s replacement is designed around a mobile app and changes the organization and availability of some data.

If a desktop dashboard is essential, assess alternatives by checking whether they offer:

  • A genuine browser dashboard.
  • Import or export of historical Fitbit data.
  • Useful sleep, activity, food, and health records.
  • Data portability without a long-term subscription.
  • Compatibility with your phone and wearable.
  • Clear privacy, authorization, and deletion policies.

Garmin Connect, Apple Health, and Samsung Health may be worth investigating for different users, but none should be treated as a like-for-like Fitbit replacement without checking current platform support and desktop features.

Bottom line

The Fitbit web dashboard is not coming back as a result of browser troubleshooting: the consumer service was discontinued on July 8, 2024. Use the Google Health mobile app for supported consumer access, export important information through Google’s data controls, and treat the separate legacy Web API migration as a developer issue rather than a sign that Fitbit devices have stopped working.
