Forstner announced the return of its President (1450) bracelet for the first-generation First Omega in Space (FOIS) on July 21, 2025. The modern bracelet is a fitted aftermarket option—not an original Omega bracelet—and fit depends on the exact Speedmaster or FOIS generation.
What Forstner brought back
The re-released President (1450) is a contemporary recreation of a classic bracelet design, offered in watch-specific variants for Omega Speedmaster and First Omega in Space models. For the first-generation FOIS, Forstner specifies a 19mm end-link fit and solid 316L stainless steel links and end links. The company’s announcement is dated July 21, 2025: Forstner’s FOIS re-release announcement.
The manufacturer describes rounded links and rounded end pieces, with a fully brushed finish. The Speedmaster versions taper from a 20mm end piece to 16mm at the clasp; the FOIS versions are distinct 19mm fitted variants. A matching lug width alone does not establish compatibility: confirm the watch reference and select the corresponding bracelet variant.
Which Speedmaster or FOIS does it fit?
Forstner separates its options by case generation and model, rather than offering one universal 1450 bracelet. Its current product listing identifies these variants: Forstner President (1450) product listing.

The product listing gives a 120–180mm adjustment range and describes it as suitable for wrists around 6–8 inches. Treat those as the manufacturer’s stated sizing guidance; actual comfort and fit depend on wrist shape and how the bracelet is sized.
How to choose the right variant
- Identify the watch precisely. Check the reference and generation, not just the model name or lug width.
- Match the variant to the case. Choose “Cal. 1861 and Former” for a pre-2021 Speedmaster Professional, or “Cal. 3861 – Current” for the newer 3861 generation and the special editions named by Forstner. Select first- or second-generation FOIS specifically for those watches.
- Confirm end-link width and listing details. Speedmaster versions use a 20mm end piece; the FOIS versions use 19mm. Verify that the chosen variant lists your exact watch.
- Check sizing and installation needs. Account for the stated wrist range, and use the supplied screwdriver and spring bars as appropriate. If you are unsure about the reference or fitting, confirm with Forstner or a watchmaker before purchase.
How the 1450 name relates to the historical bracelet
Forstner’s company history says its successor, Jacoby Bender, supplied bracelets to various watch brands and specifically mentions Hamilton President/1450-style bracelets.
