DLC (diamond-like carbon) watches range from compact dress-leaning designs to deep-rated divers, and the coating does not necessarily cover every part of a watch. These four Citizen models are useful examples because their official product listings confirm DLC treatment while showing different applications, sizes and functions. They are a material-led selection, not a definitive ranking or a hands-on test.
What DLC means—and what it does not mean
DLC stands for diamond-like carbon, a family of carbon films used as surface treatments. Citizen describes its DURATECT DLC as a proprietary adaptation of industrial DLC for watches, intended to provide a black appearance, scratch resistance and a smooth feel (Citizen Super Titanium technology page). DLC is not one universal recipe: formulations, substrate materials, preparation, thickness and coverage can differ.
For its DURATECT DLC, Citizen lists approximate hardness of 1,000–1,400 HV on its undated U.S. technology page. Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. gives a 1.0–2.0 μm film thickness for the process described on its undated coating-service page (DURATECT DLC coating service). These are manufacturer figures for Citizen’s technology, not specifications for every DLC watch or independent test results. Hardness does not make a watch scratch-proof or establish that every component is coated.

The table distinguishes the stated treatment area from the rest of each specification. Product details and availability can change; check the linked official listing for current status.

How to choose among them
For a dedicated dive-watch format: Promaster Fujitsubo NB6025-59H
The Fujitsubo is the straightforward choice here if you want a mechanical diver: its listing pairs an automatic movement and 42 mm case with a Diver 200 m rating. The product page describes DLC coating on Super Titanium but does not itemize every treated surface, so do not assume the bracelet, clasp or all case components share the finish.
For GPS timekeeping and a blue accent: Attesa CC4066-69E
The Attesa is the largest of the four at 44 mm and combines satellite GPS timekeeping with Eco-Drive and chronograph functions. Its listing is especially precise about coverage: DURATECT DLC Blue is specified for the bezel and bracelet. That wording does not confirm treatment of the clasp or every other surface.

For an everyday chronograph: Brycen CA7090-52E
The 43 mm Brycen pairs a 100 m rating with an Eco-Drive chronograph and a DLC-coated Super Titanium description. It is a useful example of the category, but its official U.S. page was marked sold out when checked; confirm current stock before treating it as readily purchasable.
For a smaller case: xC EE1007-75L
At 29 mm, the xC is a notably smaller option than the other three. Citizen specifically identifies its black DLC Super Titanium case, rather than making a blanket claim about the bracelet or clasp. The cited listing does not state water resistance, so compare its current official specifications with your needs before buying.

Coverage matters as much as the word DLC
A product description that says “DLC coating” may not identify every treated part. Read the model-specific language rather than inferring that the case sides, bracelet links and clasp are all coated. Citizen’s CA7058-55E, for example, is described as having one DLC-plated bracelet link; that is a partial application, not evidence of an entirely DLC-coated watch (Citizen Super Titanium Armor CA7058-55E).
Likewise, do not treat every dark proprietary coating as DLC. Damasko uses the name DAMEST for its coating technology, and the cited material does not establish that DAMEST is DLC. Citizen also discusses distinct DURATECT processes, so the product listing’s specific name and stated application should guide any comparison (Citizen DURATECT technology).
