Franck Muller describes the Vanguard as a sporty design built around a curved case, distinctive hand-finished applique numerals and a strap integrated into the case to continue its profile. The brand says, “The strap is cleverly integrated inside the case in order to maintain and extend the curved aspect of the timepiece, the result being a stunning and sporty timepiece with a unique design.” Franck Muller’s Vanguard collection page presents a broad family that includes Classical, Tourbillon, Grande Date, Skeleton, Slim Skeleton and Sapphire models.
That curved tonneau form and integrated strap are central design features, but the collection page does not establish how a particular reference fits different wrists. Fit and comfort require trying the actual watch on; case length, width and thickness can help narrow choices, but do not replace that check.

Wearing the Vanguard: what specifications can and cannot tell you
Dimensions and wrist fit
The cited Yachting example is 52.7 mm long and 9.3 mm thick; the Skeleton 7 Day is 53.7 mm long and 12.7 mm thick. Those figures establish a meaningful difference between these examples, particularly in thickness, but they do not predict how the curved case will sit on an individual wrist. Try the precise reference, including its strap, before deciding on fit.

Dial openness and legibility
The Skeleton 7 Day’s open display and the Yachting model’s date-oriented dial represent different visual approaches. The published descriptions do not provide independent legibility assessments. Whether the hands and markings remain easy to read in your lighting and at a glance is a practical question to judge in person.
Materials and strap
The cited examples range from stainless steel to Damascus steel and Grade-2 titanium with 18k rose-gold inserts. The Skeleton 7 Day specification lists a hand-sewn alligator strap; the Yachting specification lists hand-sewn alligator or nylon. The collection’s integrated strap design is intended to extend the case’s curve, but the exact strap, buckle and fit should be checked on the reference being considered.

Manual winding, automatic winding and reserve
The Skeleton 7 Day uses the manual-winding FM 1740-VS and has a manufacturer-stated seven-day (168-hour) reserve. The cited Yachting example uses an automatic MVT 2536-SCDT with a stated 42-hour reserve. The Damascus three-hand example is also automatic, with a stated 42-hour reserve. These are different movements and configurations, not a general specification for the Vanguard line.
Choose between them based on the winding interaction and display you want, as well as the specific complication. The figures describe stated power reserve; they do not establish independently measured accuracy or long-term reliability.

Water resistance: read the reference, not the collection name
The cited Skeleton 7 Day, Yachting and Damascus specifications each state 30 m water resistance. That manufacturer rating should not be taken as evidence that a particular watch is suitable for swimming or diving. Check the guidance for the exact reference and have its condition assessed if it is pre-owned; the cited specifications do not provide broader activity guidance.
