Fratello Talks: New and Pre-Owned Watches They’d Buy for €5,000

Fratello’s March 5, 2026 episode sets a clear watch-buying challenge: choose one watch, spend between €4,500 and €5,000, and consider both new and pre-owned options. The accessible article text does not identify the hosts’ individual picks, so it cannot support a reliable list of their recommendations.

What is the €5,000 watch challenge?

Fratello framed the episode with the question, “What watch would you buy with €5k in your pocket today?” Participants RJ, Daan, and Nacho had a €5,000 hypothetical budget, had to spend at least €4,500, and were asked to allocate it to a single watch. Each considered both a new and a pre-owned option. Fratello’s episode article describes the rules and premise.

This is a buying discussion, not a verified inventory list or market survey. Its budget is the episode’s constraint, not evidence that particular watches currently sell for those amounts.

Which watches did RJ, Daan, and Nacho pick?

The accessible article text does not name the challenge selections. Fratello says article images offer hints and directs listeners to the episode for the hosts’ picks; the episode page itself repeats the premise but does not provide a written model-by-model list. The official episode listing identifies it as Season 4, Episode 10, published March 5, 2026, with a runtime of 34:21.

#1 Best Overall
Rolex, Pre-loved Diamond Bezel Roman Dial Datejust 178344 31mm, Brown
  • Pre-Loved Condition: Excellent; Light scratching to hardware
  • 31mm
  • Made in Switzerland
  • Oysterclasp closure

Fratello notes that Tudor made up the largest share of options in the price band, but does not establish which Tudor model, if any, a host chose. It would therefore be misleading to turn Tudor’s prominence into a named recommendation.

Keep the wrist checks separate from the recommendations

The article names the watches the hosts wore during the episode, but these are wrist checks—not identified challenge picks:

  • RJ: Omega Speedmaster Professional ref. 310.30.42.50.01.001.
  • Daan: Rolex Explorer ref. 114270.
  • Nacho: NOMOS Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Jungle edition, shown with a khaki-green NATO strap.

The strap is an accessory detail, not evidence of a watch recommendation. Likewise, the wrist-check models should not be presented as the hosts’ answers to the €5,000 challenge.

How to use the episode as a buying framework

The episode supplies a useful set of constraints, but not enough detail to compare specific models or verify what is purchasable today. If you apply the same challenge to your own shortlist, check each candidate against the rules and your actual market:
