The Oak & Oscar Atwood is a 39mm, manually wound flyback chronograph with a stated 58-hour power reserve. Its compact dimensions and tactile chronograph operation are central to its appeal; the current official listing shows a price of $2,650. This is a product overview informed by published specifications and attributed reviewer impressions, not our own hands-on test.
What the Atwood flyback does
A flyback lets you reset and restart a running chronograph with one press, instead of stopping it, resetting it, then starting it again. It is useful when timing consecutive intervals: press the flyback control and the chronograph hand returns to zero and immediately begins timing the next interval.
Oak & Oscar equips the Atwood with the manually wound Sellita AMT5100M, a column-wheel chronograph movement from Sellita’s AMT Manufacture division. The manufacturer lists a 4 Hz frequency, 23 jewels and a 58-hour power reserve. The column wheel is the control architecture for the chronograph; the flyback function changes how quickly the wearer can begin a new timing interval.
In Fratello’s April 2025 review, Daan de Groot described the winding and pusher action as smooth, and reported that the central chronograph hand jumped back and immediately swept again when he used the flyback. That is one reviewer’s handling impression, not a measured performance result. Fratello’s review

Case, dial and specifications
Oak & Oscar specifies a 316L stainless-steel case measuring 39mm across, 46.0mm lug to lug and 12.9mm thick including the domed crystal. The crystal is double-domed sapphire with a multi-layer anti-reflective coating. Lug width is 20mm. The listed water resistance is 5 ATM/50m; that figure is not a dive-watch rating, and the manufacturer’s product information does not give a detailed activity-use table.

The dial is arranged in a classic tri-compax layout, with recessed registers in a lower dial layer and a tachymeter scale wrapped along the rehaut, marked to 54 units. Orange accents appear on the central chronograph seconds hand and other details. The three listed colorways are White Panda, Navy Reverse Panda and Charcoal Reverse Panda. How it may wear on the wrist
The 39mm diameter and 46mm lug-to-lug measurement make the Atwood relatively compact for a chronograph, but dimensions alone cannot guarantee fit. Fratello’s reviewer said it wore well on a 17cm (6.7-inch) wrist; Hodinkee’s launch-era reviewer also reported comfortable wear on a 6.25-inch wrist. These are individual wear impressions, not a fit guarantee. The bracelet tapers from 20mm at the lugs to 16mm and uses removable links plus a six-position quick-adjust locking clasp. Oak & Oscar gives a bracelet wrist range of 158–231mm. The watch is also offered on a handmade Horween leather strap. The listed package includes a 20mm olive-drab nylon strap with orange stitching, a canvas watch wallet and an American-made strap-changing tool.

Choosing a strap
A 20mm strap is the nominal lug width. Oak & Oscar’s nylon strap is listed as included, while bracelet and leather are configuration options. If buying a different strap, check its end shape and fit at the lugs as well as its width; a nominal 20mm measurement does not establish compatibility for every strap end.

Whether the listed price is worthwhile depends on what matters to you. The Atwood’s case dimensions, manual winding, column-wheel architecture and flyback operation are the clearest reasons to consider it; the choice among three dial colors and bracelet or leather configuration is a matter of preference. Fratello praised the compact proportions, pusher feel and overall package at its review-date price, while Hodinkee liked the size and design but wished for more contrasting case finishes. Those are reviewer judgments, not objective tests or a guarantee that the watch will suit every buyer.
