Jorg Weppelink’s November 2024 Fratello watch list centers on three watches he would like to add to his collection: the Omega Constellation Manhattan, Rolex Sea-Dweller ref. 1665 “Great White,” and Tudor Submariner ref. 7016. He also names two Tudor Black Bay editions and an Ebel chronograph. The feature is a personal selection, not a ranking or a current buying guide.
Jorg’s three main watch-list picks
In his November 12, 2024 Fratello feature, Jorg Weppelink explains what draws him to each of these pre-owned and vintage watches. The appeal ranges from distinctive case design to the history behind a dial and its hands.
Omega Constellation Manhattan
Weppelink’s first pick is the first-generation Constellation Manhattan, introduced in 1982. He likes its distinctly 1980s design: a thin case, integrated bracelet, four claws securing the crystal, and printing on the underside of that crystal. He is particularly interested in steel and two-tone examples, though he also considers mechanical and full-gold versions.
His feature put examples in good condition at approximately €700–€1,500. That was his estimate in November 2024, not a current price range or a guarantee about any particular watch.

Rolex Sea-Dweller ref. 1665 “Great White”
The second principal pick is the vintage Sea-Dweller ref. 1665, nicknamed the “Great White.” Weppelink describes its production period as 1977–1983 and points to its matte black dial, acrylic crystal, and lack of a Cyclops lens. The feature gives its depth rating as 2,000 feet (610 meters).
Its appeal for him is the combination of vintage character and specific dial and case details. In the market he was observing in November 2024, he estimated prices at roughly €13,500 and up, with sought-after Mk. 2 “Rail” dial examples reaching €40,000 or more. These are dated estimates, not live listings or current market guidance.

Tudor Submariner ref. 7016
Weppelink calls the Tudor Submariner ref. 7016 his favorite vintage Tudor Submariner. He connects it with the introduction of Tudor’s Snowflake aesthetic; the second dial version has Snowflake hands and a distinctive dial. He also relates the design to requests from Marine Nationale divers for larger luminous hands and hour markers.
His feature identifies an ETA 2483 movement and estimates a range of about €8,000–€15,000, depending on condition. Both the technical description and the price range are claims from that November 2024 article rather than independently verified specifications or current valuations.

Honorable mentions
The list also includes two Tudor Black Bay references or editions and one Ebel:
- Tudor Black Bay ref. M79230B: the blue-bezel version.
- Harrods edition: the green-accented Tudor Black Bay.
- Ebel Le Modulor Chronograph ref. 5137241: Weppelink singles out the rose-gold configuration and mentions its Lemania 1340-based caliber 137. He put that configuration at approximately €8,000 in the feature.
The Ebel figure, like the other prices, is an estimate from November 2024 rather than a current quote.

What the list tells a prospective buyer—and what it does not
Weppelink says he keeps tabs on several watches through Chrono24 and frames the feature around pieces he might want in his own collection. The choices show his personal interest in design and watch history; they are not a systematic comparison or a recommendation to buy.
The feature does not establish what is currently available, what a particular example is worth, or whether an individual watch is authentic, original, or in good condition. Anyone considering a listing should verify its exact reference, condition, originality, and authenticity independently. Treat every price above as historical context and check current listings before setting a budget.
