The Fratello × REM Spacewalk is a black leather Speedmaster strap inspired by astronaut Ed White’s June 3, 1965 spacewalk and the Omega Speedmaster 105.003 he wore. Introduced by Fratello on May 28, 2024, it was offered in 19mm and 20mm widths, with engraved and painted details referencing the mission. The dimensions and price below are those reported in the 2024 announcement; present-day price and availability are not established.
What is the Fratello × REM Spacewalk strap?
Spacewalk was the May 2024 edition of Fratello’s collaboration with Swedish strap maker REM. It is a black leather strap with black stitching, designed for Speedmasters and distinguished by artwork and lettering tied to Ed White’s first American spacewalk.
Fratello’s announcement described the strap as made from organic Swedish leather, with production, stitching, and laser engraving carried out in Sweden. Its steel pin buckle is engraved with the Fratello name.
What inspired the design?
On June 3, 1965, NASA astronaut Ed White performed a spacewalk while wearing an Omega Speedmaster 105.003. The strap’s artwork references White in his spacesuit. A gold-painted line evokes the cord connecting him to the spacecraft; Fratello’s article describes that system as including a 25-foot umbilical line and a 23-foot tether line.

The strap also features the white-painted engraved wording “Spacewalk June 3 1965.” Together, the image, line, and inscription make the strap a specific reference to White’s EVA rather than a general space-themed design.
Will the 19mm or 20mm strap fit your Speedmaster?
Choose based on your watch’s lug width, not simply its name or case diameter. Fratello positioned the 19mm version for vintage Speedmasters such as the Ed White 105.003 and CK2998/First Omega in Space examples, and the 20mm version for the 42mm Moonwatch. Check the lug width of your exact watch before ordering; model variations can make assumptions based on a reference family unreliable.

Both versions were described as 2.5mm thick, with a 127mm long end and a 74mm short end. Those are the dimensions in Fratello’s May 2024 article; it does not specify measurement tolerances.
Price and availability: what the 2024 listing said
Fratello listed the strap at €107 excluding VAT in its May 28, 2024 article and said it was available through the Fratello shop at that time. The article also described quantities as limited and said restocking was planned during 2024. These are historical listing details, not confirmation of today’s price, stock, or restock plans.

For current availability, check the official Fratello shop directly. If the collaboration is unavailable, a generic 19mm black leather watch strap may serve as a replacement where that width fits, but it will not reproduce the Spacewalk artwork, inscription, or collaboration details.
