The G-Shock DW-6900 debuted in February 1995, and Casio marked its 30th anniversary with the DW-6900TR collection in 2025. The anniversary models revisit the line’s early black, red and yellow palette while adding “SINCE 1995” on the illuminated LCD and 30 stars on the case back. The name “Triple Graph” describes the three circular display graphics—not an anniversary model, and not a feature the DW-6900 introduced first.
What does “Triple Graph” mean on the DW-6900?
It refers to three circular graphics arranged above the main LCD. Casio says they work with the digital display to add functions such as stopwatch and seconds readouts. Together with the rounded case and large front button for the backlight, the three circles give the 6900 its distinctive face. Casio’s official 6900 history describes this layered design as a defining element of the line.
The DW-6900 was not the first G-Shock with a Triple Graph display: Casio credits that distinction to the DW-5900C-1. The DW-6900’s significance is that it made the three-graphic layout part of a recognizable, long-running design of its own.
When did the DW-6900 come out?
Casio dates the DW-6900’s debut to February 1995. It offered a rounded alternative to the squared design associated with the original DW-5000, while retaining a rugged digital-watch approach. Its round case, layered dial, Triple Graph and front backlight button became the line’s signature visual cues.

The first DW-6900 was followed by the DW-6900H, which Casio identifies as the first model in the line offered in colors beyond black. Its red, yellow and black options provide the historical reference for the 30th-anniversary palette.
What is different about the DW-6900TR anniversary models?
Casio announced the DW-6900TR collection on January 29, 2025, naming three variants: DW-6900TR-1, DW-6900TR-4 and DW-6900TR-9. The collection returns to the early black, red and yellow color scheme associated with the DW-6900H. Its commemorative details distinguish it from a standard 6900:

A water-resistance rating is a stated product specification; it is not, by itself, guidance that the watch is suitable for every underwater activity. Check Casio’s guidance for the specific watch and intended use.
How the 6900 design has changed over time
The line has kept its recognizable case and display language while appearing in a broad range of treatments. Casio’s history and catalog materials document examples including colored and semi-transparent resin, protective bezels, metal and fabric bands, and varied dial finishes. Those variations help explain why the 6900 can serve as a platform for both straightforward color editions and more elaborate releases.
