What did “another thumbs up” mean?
Droid Life’s May 5, 2022 report described “Heart-Pro” as a codename that strengthened the then-current rumor of a Pro model in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 line. The report relayed three proposed codenames—Heart-S, Heart-L, and Heart-Pro—and mapped them to a smaller Watch 5, a larger Watch 5, and a possible Pro variant. Droid Life’s report characterized this as additional evidence, not a Samsung announcement.
The same report associated the rumored models with SM-R90X, SM-R91X, and SM-R92X number families. Those were expectations circulating at the time; they should not be treated as verified identifiers for final products.
Was the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro name confirmed?
No—not by the codename report itself. An internal codename can suggest a product direction without settling what name will appear at retail. Droid Life explicitly noted that Samsung could use “Pro” internally and choose a different public-facing name. So the “thumbs up” was support for the rumor, not proof of the name.

Later evidence resolved the naming question: a Target listing identified a “Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE 45mm Smartwatch.” It establishes that Galaxy Watch5 Pro was used as a retail product name and that the listing referred to a 45mm LTE version. It does not establish current stock, price, or whether that model is a suitable purchase today.

The article is historical reporting about a pre-release rumor, not a current leak or announcement. Its useful takeaway is narrow: in May 2022, “Heart-Pro” made a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro seem more plausible, while leaving the final branding unconfirmed. The later retailer listing shows that the name was eventually used; it does not turn the original codename into proof that Samsung had already confirmed the name at the time.
