Geneva’s 2025 watch-auction season produced two distinct peaks: Phillips’ May sale realized CHF 43.41 million, then its November Decade One auction brought in CHF 66.82 million and sold every lot. Christie’s and Antiquorum also reported substantial November results. These are individual auction-house totals, not a consolidated figure for every Geneva sale.
Spring: Phillips and Christie’s report contrasting results
Phillips Geneva Watch Auction XXI, 10–11 May
Phillips reported a total of CHF 43,410,306 for its two-day Geneva Watch Auction XXI. It sold 188 of 192 lots: 98% by lot and 99% by value. The house also reported 1,820 registered bidders from 71 countries, including 1,580 online. Phillips described the result as more than double the presale estimate; that comparison is the auction house’s characterization.
The leading result was the F.P. Journe × THA for Breguet Pendule Sympathique No. 1 at CHF 5,505,000. Other notable results included an F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance at CHF 685,800 and a Philippe Dufour Simplicity “Unique” at CHF 647,700. These trophy-lot prices should be read separately from the sale-wide total. Phillips’ lot-results page lists the individual outcomes.
Christie’s Rare Watches, 12 May
Christie’s reported CHF 21,183,160 for its Geneva Rare Watches sale, which included Stories in Time: A Collection of Exceptional Watches. It sold 92% of lots, and 44% sold above estimate. The top lot was the Richard Mille RM27-01 Rafael Nadal at CHF 1,255,000. Christie’s also reported bidders and buyers from 57 countries.

Other prominent results included a Rolex Ref. 6264 Paul Newman “John Player Special” at CHF 1,008,000. Christie’s release gives conflicting prices for a special-order white-gold Cartier Crash, so no Crash figure is included here. Christie’s sale release provides its reported totals and sale context.
November: Phillips’ Decade One leads the reported totals
Phillips Decade One, 8–9 November
Phillips’ two-day Decade One (2015–2025) sale at the Hotel President realized CHF 66,815,725 and sold all 207 lots. Phillips called it the highest total in US dollars for any watch auction at the time. Its headline lot was a 1943 stainless-steel Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph Ref. 1518, which realized CHF 14,190,000. Phillips said it was the most expensive vintage Patek Philippe wristwatch sold at auction and noted that the result exceeded the CHF 11,002,000 achieved when it offered the watch in 2016.

The year review also included the May Pendule Sympathique result. Phillips’ November sale release sets out the Decade One total and Ref. 1518 result.
Christie’s and Antiquorum
Christie’s reported a combined CHF 40,273,663 for its three-session Important Watches sale on 10–11 November. The house described this as the highest result for a series of watch sales it had held. Its page quotes Aurel Bacs, International Head of Christie’s Watch Department, calling it “a new record total for any series of watch sales.” Christie’s November results page provides the house’s account.

Antiquorum’s official virtual-catalog index lists CHF 7.1 million for its Geneva sale on 8–9 November. The indexed figure is the house’s reported total; the catalog index does not provide a like-for-like reconciliation with the other sale totals. Antiquorum’s virtual-catalog index lists the sale.

The named outcomes indicate strong bidding for certain high-profile lots and high sell-through at Phillips’ two Geneva sales, but they do not establish a complete season total or prove a market-wide trend. The figures above are reported by the individual auction houses, and the available sale summaries do not reconcile all houses, sale scopes, or price conventions. Sotheby’s listed a Fine Watches Geneva sale spanning 28 October–11 November, but its accessible listing did not provide realized prices for the lots reviewed; it therefore cannot support a comparable headline result here. Sotheby’s sale listing notes that displayed prices include Sotheby’s Premium and exclude applicable taxes and costs.
For comparisons, keep sale dates and session counts in view, distinguish sale-wide totals from individual lot prices, and do not treat sold-by-lot percentages as equivalent to sold-by-value percentages. Phillips reported both measures for its May sale; Christie’s May release reported its lot sell-through and the share sold above estimate. Those measures describe different things.
