The official Only Watch lot description calls GG0011WG-01 a unique creation and the first Gérald Genta watch to combine a retrograde-minute display, jumping hours and a minute repeater. It also says Genta had sketched the concept but did not bring it to realization. The watch was presented in 2023 to mark Disney’s centenary and the 50th anniversary of Genta’s first watch under his own name in 1973.
Its octagonal white-gold case frames a white-gold dial decorated with Mickey Mouse holding a birthday cake. The enamel work is grand feu champlevé, made at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Doublel. Independent coverage by SJX interprets the case and character dial as nods to Gérald Genta’s Success and Fantasy designs; that is the publication’s reading, rather than a maker-stated design brief.
How does the Mickey Mouse minute display work?
Mickey’s right arm sweeps across an arc marked from 0 to 60 to show the minutes. At the end of its travel, the hand returns to the starting point, making the indication retrograde rather than a conventional hand that circles continuously around the dial. A separate aperture at 3 o’clock shows the hour, which changes instantaneously in a jumping-hour display.

What did the Gérald Genta Only Watch 2023 sell for?
The official lot listing estimated the watch at CHF 350,000–500,000. A 2024 Only Watch results roundup by Timekeepers Club reports that Lot 16 sold for CHF 170,000. That result belongs to the Only Watch 2024 auction, held on 10 May 2024 at Geneva’s Palexpo under Christie’s; “2023” is part of the watch’s name, not the year of the reported sale.
