Its hand-wound GP09300-0001 movement pairs that mechanism with hours, minutes and a power-reserve display. Contemporary reports put its launch price at €440,700 or $501,900, depending on the publication and currency; neither figure is a current valuation.
What makes this tourbillon tri-axial?
Rather than keeping the balance and escapement in a single rotating cage, the GP09300-0001 places them in three nested cages that turn independently. As the cages rotate at different speeds, the regulating assembly changes orientation over time. Monochrome Watches describes the challenge succinctly: “Triple-axis tourbillons are rare, very hard to manufacture and especially difficult to adjust.”
- The inner tourbillon completes one rotation per minute.
- The next cage completes a rotation every 30 seconds.
- The outer cage completes a rotation every two minutes.
These are the rotation periods reported by Monochrome and Hodinkee, not a claim that the mechanism improves accuracy by a specified amount. The technical interest is the coordinated motion and the difficulty of constructing and regulating it.
Case, dial and movement
Case and layout
The watch has a 48 mm 18k pink-gold case, sapphire crystals and a reported 30 m water-resistance rating. A large aperture at 9 o’clock exposes the tourbillon beneath a domed sapphire, and a side opening provides another view of the assembly. The case is tall; Monochrome’s author judged its size and thickness challenging for daily wear. That is a subjective wearing assessment, not a fit test.

#1 Best Overall
- Girard Perregaux Caliber GP08400, beats at 21,600 (3 Hz) vph, composed out of 208 parts, contains 29 Jewels & has an approximate power reserve of 48 hours
- The balance wheel is secured in place by a black PVD coated bridge at 6 o'clock. The generous proportions of the balance wheel (10.15mm in diameter) makes it less subject to disturbances and thus more accurate.
- The micro-rotor is located to the top left of the movement, while the main-spring barrel is located to the right side for a symmetrical design.
The compact Clous de Paris time dial sits around 1:30–2 o’clock, while a linear power-reserve display is positioned below it. The layout gives most of the dial to the moving mechanism rather than conventional timekeeping indications.
Caliber GP09300-0001
Monochrome reports that the hand-wound caliber has 317 components, 34 jewels, a 3 Hz beat rate (21,600 vibrations per hour) and a 52-hour power reserve. The hours and minutes are the watch’s time display; the reserve indicator shows the remaining winding autonomy.

Hodinkee also gives the 13.78 mm dimension and confirms the 317-component movement and cage rotation periods. Monochrome describes polished and beveled movement surfaces and a display back. Hodinkee notes that steel, titanium and rose gold are used in the tourbillon construction, balancing strength and weight.
