Its reported launch prices varied by source, so they should be treated as historical figures rather than a single definitive price.
What was introduced in 2017?
The steel Senator Chronograph Panorama Date joined earlier platinum and red-gold versions of the collection. SJX identified the new watch as reference 1-37-01-03-02-07 and reported that it would be available from mid-2017. Both Time and Watches and SJX Watches covered the Baselworld announcement on 22 March 2017.
The steel case and dark dial gave the chronograph a different look from the original precious-metal models, which Swatch Group described when the Calibre 37-01 collection debuted in 2014 with platinum and red-gold cases and silver-family dials.

Launch coverage describes a 42 mm stainless-steel case with polished and satin-brushed surfaces and a deep black dial. White printing and blue Super-LumiNova supply contrast. Strap and bracelet choices
Time and Watches reported three launch options: black calfskin with blue stitching, black rubber, or a polished and satin-brushed steel bracelet. Its report describes the bracelet as having a patented closure with eight adjustment settings. These are launch-era descriptions, not confirmation that every option remains available or that a particular watch still has its original configuration.
Time and Watches also reported a screw-down crown and an increase in water resistance from 5 bar on earlier versions to 10 bar for the steel model. This is 2017 launch reporting for the model, not a current inspection or certification of an individual watch.

What movement is in the Senator Chronograph Panorama Date?
The 2017 steel watch uses Glashütte Original’s Calibre 37-01, an automatic column-wheel chronograph. Swatch Group’s 9 April 2014 archive describes it as a 4 Hz movement with central stop-seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, flyback, small seconds with a power-reserve display, and a stated 70-hour power reserve.
Flyback lets the wearer restart timing without first stopping the chronograph: press the flyback pusher while timing, and the chronograph hands return to zero and begin a new interval when the pusher is released. The archive describes a single spring barrel and a movement architecture designed to be compact and stable.

Glashütte Original’s current page covers a different steel reference, 1-37-01-03-02-35. It lists 28,800 vph (4 Hz), a 70-hour ±5% reserve, a skeletonized rotor with a 21-carat gold oscillation weight, a Glashütte three-quarter plate with stripe finish, polished steel components, and blued screws. Those details describe that current reference and should not automatically be read as a complete specification for the 2017 launch reference.
What did the watch cost at launch?
Contemporaneous reports disagree, and neither figure should be mistaken for a present-day market price:

Check the reference number rather than relying on the collection name alone. The 2017 launch model is 1-37-01-03-02-07; the manufacturer page cited above is for 1-37-01-03-02-35. That current page lists a 42 mm case, 10 bar water resistance, 14.6 mm height, screwed crown, and a calfskin strap with 21 mm end-link width. Those specifications belong to reference 1-37-01-03-02-35; they do not establish the precise fitment or full current specification of the 2017 watch.
