Google’s Pixel Watch Performance Loop Band was still unreleased when the company displayed it in an official Pixel Watch Community image on November 7, 2024. That status is now historical: the fabric band became available by February 2025 and remains listed as a first-party accessory for Pixel Watch models through Pixel Watch 5. Its strongest advantages are fine-grained adjustment, soft everyday wear and matching metal lugs—not proven superior fitness-sensor accuracy.
What Google teased in November 2024
The November 7, 2024 Pixel Watch Community post asked users to share favorite band and watch-face combinations. The image included the Performance Loop Band in two color variants, despite there being no accompanying launch date or price. Droid Life documented the image and earlier sightings in its report: Droid Life’s November 2024 coverage.
Google did not call the image a product announcement. Its appearance suggested the accessory was designed and prepared, while availability remained uncertain. Describing the display as an “accidental tease” is an interpretation of the timing and retail leaks, not a confirmed Google statement.
From repeated sightings to a real accessory
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| August 2024 | The band appeared around the Pixel Watch 3 launch period, according to later reporting. |
| Fall 2024 | Retail listings, including one at Best Buy Canada, appeared and were later pulled or remained unavailable. |
| November 7, 2024 | Google showed the band again in an official Pixel Watch Community image. |
| February 11, 2025 | 9to5Google reported that the band was available in the United States and reviewed it at a reported launch price of $60. |
| August 18, 2026 listing | The US Google Store listed 41 mm and 45 mm versions compatible with Pixel Watch generations through Pixel Watch 5. |
The evidence establishes availability by February 11, 2025, rather than a precisely documented first sale date. The current product page is Google’s Performance Loop Band listing.
#1 Best Overall

- Compatible with the Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2, and 41mm Pixel Watch 3; Pixel Watch sold separately
- One-size band fits wrists 137-203mm around, with a micro-adjustable hook and loop
- Workout-friendly
- Recycled polyester, nylon, and elastane yarn band with stainless steel lugs[1]
What the Performance Loop Band is
Google describes the band as a flexible, micro-adjustable workout design and presents it as a “run buddy” that can also suit daily wear. The band uses recycled polyester, nylon and elastane yarns, with stainless-steel lugs. Google calls its water resistance “workout-friendly”; that wording does not establish that it is waterproof or suitable for swimming.
The loop closure allows more precise adjustment than fixed-hole rubber bands. Stainless-steel lugs also give it a more finished appearance than many inexpensive fabric alternatives.
Sizes, wrist ranges and compatibility
Choose the band by your watch’s case size, not simply by wrist circumference. A 45 mm version is not a universal longer replacement for the 41 mm version.
| Band size | Google-listed wrist circumference | Compatible watches on the US listing |
|---|---|---|
| 41 mm | 137–203 mm; one size | Pixel Watch 41 mm; Pixel Watch 2 41 mm; Pixel Watch 3 41 mm; Pixel Watch 4 41 mm; Pixel Watch 5 41 mm |
| 45 mm | 140–215 mm; one size | Pixel Watch 3 45 mm; Pixel Watch 4 45 mm; Pixel Watch 5 45 mm |
Google advises sizing up when uncertain and wearing the watch snugly for optimal performance. Each watch is sold separately. Compatibility and stock can differ by country and retailer; the table reflects the US Google Store page inspected on August 18, 2026.

Current color names—and the old names
The current US listing uses these combinations:
| 41 mm | 45 mm |
|---|---|
| Canyon with Champagne Gold lugs | Canyon with Champagne Gold lugs |
| Olive with Pyrite lugs | Olive with Pyrite lugs |
| Obsidian with Matte Black lugs | Obsidian with Matte Black lugs |
| Porcelain with Polished Silver lugs | Porcelain with Polished Silver lugs |
| Moonstone with Polished Silver lugs | Moonstone with Moonstone lugs |
Droid Life’s 2024 report referred to colors as “Light” and “Mojito.” Those were pre-release names or labels from an early listing and should not be treated as the current US retail names.
Comfort, sweat and real-world use
In its February 2025 review, 9to5Google found the flexible band comfortable for desk work and sleep tracking. The reviewer preferred it to the firm stock band for extended wear and valued the micro-adjustment.
The same review found less ventilation than expected during longer runs. Sweat accumulated beneath the snug fit, and the fabric could remain damp for roughly 45 minutes after washing. That is a reviewer observation, not a laboratory drying measurement or a universal defect. The reviewer also needed extra force to attach it to a Pixel Watch 3 but could not determine whether that reflected a widespread quality-control problem.
Fit and health readings
A snug fit helps maintain skin contact, but tighter is not automatically better. Google’s guidance says to wear the watch securely without excessive pressure and to position it about two to three finger widths above the wrist bone during exercise. After a workout, loosen or lower the watch. See Google Pixel Watch fit guidance.

The band can help you achieve a consistent fit, but there is no evidence here that it produces more accurate heart-rate or other health readings than every competing band.

| Priority | Performance Loop | Active Sport |
|---|---|---|
| Adjustment | Micro-adjustable fabric loop | Conventional silicone fastening |
| Feel | Soft, flexible and less overtly sporty | Silicone, more conventional sports styling |
| Ventilation and cleanup | Can retain sweat and need longer to dry | Perforated silicone; easier to rinse and dry |
| Water positioning | Google says “workout-friendly” | Google describes it as waterproof |
Google’s band guide describes the Active Sport Band’s perforations as supporting breathability. 9to5Google considered it the better dedicated workout choice, while the Performance Loop was more appealing for all-day comfort and adjustment. Neither is objectively best for every activity.
Price and value
9to5Google reported a US launch price of $60 on February 11, 2025. The Google Store page retrieved on August 18, 2026 did not expose a price in the available page content, so verify the live purchase selector for current price, stock and color before buying.
At $60, the case for the official band rests on fit precision, stainless-steel hardware, finish and convenience—not demonstrated improvements in sensor accuracy. Cheaper alternatives may cost less but can compromise lug materials, durability, color selection, fit consistency or warranty support. 9to5Google described a BlackPro nylon two-pack at roughly $10 and a Spigen Lite Fit at roughly $20–$25 during its 2025 review; those were historical prices and no current buying links are established here.

Who should buy it?
It makes sense when
- Your included rubber band irritates you or feels too coarse in adjustment.
- You want one official band for casual wear, sleep tracking and moderate exercise.
- You value coordinated colors and stainless-steel lugs.
- You own a 45 mm Pixel Watch and want a first-party fabric option.
- You find it discounted below its reported $60 launch price.
Reconsider it when
- Long, high-sweat workouts and rapid drying are your priorities.
- You want the lowest-cost replacement.
- You expect fabric to remain dry during extended exercise.
- Your wrist falls outside Google’s 137–203 mm (41 mm) or 140–215 mm (45 mm) ranges.
- You need a color or lug finish not offered for your watch size.
Practical care and fit checks
- Clean and fully dry both the band and your wrist before wearing it again if irritation develops.
- Do not force a lug that does not slide into place; check alignment and follow Google’s removal instructions.
- Use the correct case-size band and keep the fit secure, not painfully tight.
Verdict
Google’s Performance Loop story changed from a repeated 2024 tease to a genuine accessory. It is a strong choice for owners who want granular adjustment, softer all-day wear and official styling. For intense workouts, frequent washing or maximum ventilation, the perforated Active Sport Band is the safer practical choice. Check the live Google Store selector for today’s price and availability rather than assuming the 2025 $60 launch figure still applies.
