The Pixel Watch 4 is officially available. Google announced it on August 20, 2025, and began shipping it on October 9, 2025. In the US, it starts at $349.99 for the 41mm Wi-Fi model. The new Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 platform, larger batteries, faster charging, brighter display and serviceable design make it a meaningful upgrade—but the 45mm model is the better choice if battery life matters most.
Pixel Watch 4 price and release date
Pixel Watch 4 is a real retail product, not a leak or rumor. Google announced it on August 20, 2025, with shipping beginning October 9, 2025.
The $349.99 headline price applies only to the smallest Wi-Fi/Bluetooth configuration. US launch pricing was:
| Model | Connectivity | US starting price |
|---|---|---|
| 41mm | Wi-Fi/Bluetooth | $349.99 |
| 45mm | Wi-Fi/Bluetooth | $399.99 |
| 41mm | LTE | $449 |
| 45mm | LTE | $499 |
The regular Google Store listing showed starting prices of $349.99 and $399.99 in August 2026. A $100 Google Store promotion that ran from July 12 through August 2, 2026, should not be treated as a current discount unless it has been renewed at checkout.

What the new chip changes
Pixel Watch 4 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 platform alongside a Cortex-M55 low-power co-processor. That is a more precise description than simply calling the watch “faster.”
Google says its new machine-learning co-processor is 25% faster while using half the power of the previous generation. The architecture is intended to support more on-device processing, smarter replies, Gemini interactions and improved efficiency.
Those claims describe Google’s design and efficiency targets, not an independently measured 25% improvement in every app. Everyday responsiveness should improve, but the more important practical benefit may be the combination of newer processing hardware and better power management.
Battery life: better, but size and mode matter
Google claims 25% longer battery life than the previous generation. The official estimates are:
| Model | Battery | With always-on display | Battery Saver |
|---|---|---|---|
| 41mm | 325 mAh | Up to 30 hours | Up to 48 hours |
| 45mm | 455 mAh | Up to 40 hours | Up to 72 hours |
These are Google’s estimates, not independent test results. LTE use, GPS tracking, screen brightness, workouts, music streaming, notifications, temperature and software settings can all reduce runtime. Battery Saver also limits or disables features, so the 45mm model’s “up to 72 hours” figure is not equivalent to three days of normal full-feature use.

- Train smarter with 40+ exercise modes and real-time stats on your wrist[8]; and with high-precision dual-frequency GPS, you get more accurate route tracking on runs and hikes[1]
In practical buying terms, the 41mm remains primarily a roughly one-day-to-day-and-a-half watch depending on usage. The 45mm’s 455 mAh battery is the meaningful choice for people who use GPS, LTE, workouts or the always-on display heavily. The extra $50 over the 41mm Wi-Fi model may matter more than the processor upgrade.
Charging is a major improvement
Both sizes use Google’s Quick Charge Dock and can reach approximately 50% in 15 minutes. Google lists these approximate charging times:
| Model | 50% | 80% | 100% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 41mm | 15 minutes | 25 minutes | 45 minutes |
| 45mm | 15 minutes | 30 minutes | 60 minutes |
That makes short charging breaks more useful, even if the 41mm model still needs frequent charging under normal use.
Display and design changes
Pixel Watch 4 has a domed Actua 360 display with a 10% larger active area and 16% smaller bezels. It reaches up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness and uses a 320 ppi AMOLED LTPO panel with a responsive 1–60Hz refresh range.
The display is protected by custom 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and supports an always-on mode. The larger active area does not mean the case has dramatically grown: the 41mm case remains 41mm in diameter, the 45mm case is 45mm, and both are 12.3mm tall.
| Specification | 41mm | 45mm |
|---|---|---|
| Weight without band | 31.0g | 36.7g |
| Height | 12.3mm | 12.3mm |
| Display | 320 ppi AMOLED LTPO, 1–60Hz, up to 3,000 nits | |
| Durability | 5 ATM and IP68 | |
| Storage and memory | 32GB eMMC and 2GB SDRAM | |
Serviceability could matter more than speed
Google describes Pixel Watch 4 as serviceable for the first time. The battery and display are designed to be replaceable, and the housing uses 100% recycled aluminum.

- Precision-crafted to do it all: The Google Pixel Watch 5 features the domed Actua 360 display with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass and up to 40 hours of battery life[1,5]
- Metrics that matter: Advanced sensors help you stay ahead of your health and wellness; and Google Pixel’s most accurate heart rate tracking is fine-tuned for your activity[6,7]
- Understand your sleep like never before: Your watch captures insights like the time spent in sleep stages to breathing regularity, then summarizes it all in a personalized Sleep Score[8,9]
- Detects loss of pulse, then calls for help: Pixel Watch 5 is the only smartwatch to feature Loss of Pulse Detection, which can prompt a call to emergency services[10]
That does not mean repairs are free, easy for owners to perform themselves or available in every country. A replaceable component is not automatically covered by the one-year warranty listed on Google’s US specification page. Check Google’s current repair and warranty terms before treating serviceability as a guarantee of inexpensive ownership.
Health, fitness and safety features
Pixel Watch 4 adds or highlights several health and fitness capabilities:
- Skin-temperature sensing.
- Dual-frequency GPS.
- Automatic activity detection and workout recaps.
- More than 50 exercise modes.
- Real-time cycling metrics streamed to the Fitbit and Google Health ecosystem.
- Improved sleep-stage classification.
- ECG, heart-rate, oxygen-related, cEDA, altimeter, barometer, compass and magnetometer hardware.
- Google’s existing loss-of-pulse detection feature.
Google claims sleep-stage classification is 18% more accurate. That is a Google product claim, not a general clinical-validation statement. Health features can vary by country, regulatory approval, software version and user eligibility. ECG, oxygen, temperature and sleep functions should be treated as wellness tools rather than medical diagnoses.
Some AI coaching and premium health features may require Google Health Premium after a promotional period. The Pixel Watch 4 Google Store page promotes three months of access, but buyers should check the terms attached to their purchase.

The Wi-Fi/Bluetooth model is the sensible choice when your phone is usually nearby. It can handle notifications, health tracking, workouts and Google apps while paired with the phone or connected to a known Wi-Fi network.
LTE adds phone-free calling, messaging, music, navigation and Google Pay where supported. It also enables standalone emergency communication through satellite according to Google. This means emergency satellite connectivity, not general satellite internet or unrestricted satellite messaging.

LTE activation requires a compatible carrier and may add a recurring service fee. Google generally expects the phone and watch to use the same carrier for activation. Google Store pages have also advertised two years of Google Fi data for eligible LTE purchases, but the offer has specific terms: it may support data for messaging, navigation and music without changing the phone number, while calling is not supported under that particular data offer.
Choose LTE only if you will genuinely leave the phone behind or value the additional safety and connectivity features. Otherwise, the Wi-Fi model avoids ongoing cellular costs.

Compatibility
Pixel Watch 4 requires a Google Account, the Pixel Watch app and a compatible Android phone running Android 11.0 or newer. It is not compatible with iPhones. Buyers moving from an iPhone should not expect Apple Watch-style pairing or integration.
The current Google specification page lists Wear OS 6.0, although software versions, menus and Gemini features can change through later updates.
Which Pixel Watch 4 should you buy?
Buy the 41mm Wi-Fi model if:
- You have a smaller wrist or prefer a lighter watch.
- You want the lowest entry price.
- Your phone is normally nearby.
- You are comfortable charging roughly daily or every other day.
Buy the 45mm Wi-Fi model if:
- Battery life is your highest priority.
- You want the largest display.
- You use GPS, workouts or the always-on display frequently.
- You can accept the additional $50.
Buy LTE if:
- You want calls, messages, navigation or music without your phone.
- You will activate a compatible carrier plan.
- You value standalone emergency connectivity.
- You understand that cellular service can create recurring costs.
Should Pixel Watch 3 owners upgrade?
Pixel Watch 3 owners have a less urgent upgrade decision than Pixel Watch 1 or 2 owners. The strongest reasons to move are the longer official battery estimates, faster charging, newer Snapdragon platform, brighter display, larger active display area, dual-frequency GPS, skin-temperature sensing, serviceability and satellite emergency communication on LTE models.
The case is weaker if your Watch 3 already meets your battery and fitness needs. Core smartwatch functions remain familiar, and software features such as Wear OS updates and Gemini may reduce the hardware gap for some owners. Compare trade-in value and live sale pricing before paying full price.

How it compares with the Galaxy Watch 8
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 is the most obvious Android alternative, particularly for Samsung-phone owners. Official US MSRP figures effective June 2026 were $349.99 for the 40mm Bluetooth model, $399.99 for 40mm LTE, $379.99 for 44mm Bluetooth and $429.99 for 44mm LTE, according to Samsung’s pricing sheet.
Pixel Watch 4 is the more natural fit for people invested in Pixel phones, Fitbit and Google’s health ecosystem. Galaxy Watch 8 may be preferable for Samsung-phone owners or buyers who favor Samsung’s hardware and software ecosystem. Check current compatibility, battery claims and regional health-feature restrictions before comparing specific models.

Verdict
Pixel Watch 4 is a substantial refinement rather than a complete reinvention. The 45mm Wi-Fi model at $399.99 is the better overall choice for endurance and heavy fitness use. LTE is worthwhile only for buyers who will use phone-free connectivity and accept carrier requirements. Pixel Watch 3 owners can reasonably wait for a sale unless they specifically need the new battery, charging, GPS, display, repairability or satellite features.
