It is broader than the older Find my phone shortcut, but it is not available on every Wear OS model, and what it can do depends on the watch’s connectivity and the item’s support for Find Hub.
Google’s March 2026 Pixel Watch update specifically announced Find Hub on Wear, including options to locate misplaced devices and tagged items and to mark an item as lost or secure it. Google’s general guidance describes availability on supported Wear OS devices, not across the entire watch ecosystem. Google’s Pixel Watch update · Wear OS Find Hub help
What Find Hub on Wear OS does
Find Hub is Google’s wider device-and-item finding service. On a compatible watch, the app provides access to devices and accessories associated with your Google Account or participating in the Find Hub network. Depending on the target device and its connection, you may be able to view location information, play a sound, mark an item as lost or secure a supported device. The available controls can differ between the watch, phone and web interfaces. Google Find Hub app listing
Compatible targets can include Android phones and tablets, headphones, Wear OS watches, Bluetooth tracker tags and other supported accessories. A Bluetooth device does not appear automatically just because it has Bluetooth: it must be compatible, associated with the relevant account or network, and configured for finding. Google points users to accessories carrying the “Works with Android” designation. Google’s Find Hub overview · Android Find Hub requirements

Find Hub versus Find my phone
| Feature | Find my phone | Find Hub on Wear |
|---|---|---|
| Main purpose | Ring a nearby paired phone. | Access location and available finding or security actions for compatible devices and tagged items. |
| Bluetooth proximity | Required: the phone must be powered on, connected to the watch by Bluetooth and close enough to hear. | Depends on the action. Remote lookups need a data connection; a sound or nearby-finding action depends on target support and proximity. |
| Tracker tags and other devices | Not its broader purpose. | Can include compatible tags, headphones, tablets and other registered devices. |
| Lost-item controls | Ringing only. | Location information, sound, lost-item and security options where supported. |
The dedicated Find my phone shortcut remains useful when a phone is simply misplaced nearby. It can ring the phone even if the phone is muted or set to vibrate, provided the power, Bluetooth and range requirements are met. Google’s Wear OS instructions
How to use Find Hub on a Wear OS watch
- Wake the watch and open All Apps.
- Tap Find Hub.
- Select the device or item you want to locate.
- Choose an action the watch offers, such as viewing its available location, playing a sound, marking it lost or securing it.
For a nearby phone, use the watch face’s swipe-down menu and tap Find my phone, or open All Apps → Find my phone. Tap the check-mark button to ring it. The phone must be powered on, paired over Bluetooth and within hearing range. Google’s Wear OS instructions
Which watches support the app?
Google identifies the app as available on supported Wear OS devices; its public guidance does not establish that every manufacturer or model is supported. The March 2026 update is direct evidence for Pixel Watch, while general Wear OS documentation describes the broader supported-device experience. Google’s Wear OS site lists watches from several manufacturers, but a brand’s presence on that page is not proof that Find Hub is available on every model. - Open the watch’s All Apps list and look for Find Hub.
- If it is missing, open Google Play Store on the watch and search for Google’s Find Hub.
- Install or update it if Google offers it for that watch, then check for available system and Google Play services updates.
- Make sure the watch is signed into the Google Account associated with the devices you want to find and has a usable connection.
Availability may vary by model, software, region and account setup. As of August 18, 2026, Google’s cited Wear OS guidance does not provide a complete public model-by-model compatibility list or a universal minimum Wear OS version.
What must be set up first?
- A supported watch and the app: Find Hub must be offered for the watch and installed or updated.
- A Google Account: Sign in with the account associated with the target devices or items.
- A data path for remote lookups: The watch needs internet through its paired phone, Wi-Fi or LTE. Connectivity options and app behavior vary by model and carrier.
- Location and finding settings: Location must be enabled where required, and the target must be configured for discovery or participate in the relevant Find Hub network.
- Registered, compatible targets: The target must support Find Hub and be associated with the user or network; protected devices may require the recognized owner’s account.
For Pixel Watch, Google says the watch must be added to Find Hub. A second-hand or reseller-purchased watch may need its ownership transferred before it can be found. Pixel Watch finding and setup guidance · Android Find Hub requirements
What the app can tell you when an item is missing
Online location
If a target is online and can report its position, Find Hub may show its available location. The watch is a control point for that information; it cannot create a location signal the target has not supplied.
Last-known location
If the target is offline, the location shown may be where it was last connected or observed, not where it is now. Google describes last-known location as a starting point, so treat it as a clue rather than a guaranteed live position. Google Pixel Watch finding guidance

Offline-network location
Some compatible devices and accessories can be detected through Google’s offline-finding network. Whether that helps depends on the target, its settings and whether participating Android devices observe it. A network-generated location may be delayed, approximate or unavailable; offline finding does not promise a live position. Google’s Find Hub overview · Find Hub app listing
Nearby sound or Bluetooth finding
A nearby phone can be rung with Find my phone under the Bluetooth, power and range conditions above. Other devices and tags may offer a sound or nearby-finding action only if they support it. Do not assume every phone, tag or watch offers precision finding or the same controls.
Does the watch need its phone nearby?
Not for every use, but remote Find Hub actions need connectivity. A Wi-Fi or LTE watch may be able to make a remote lookup without its paired phone immediately beside it, if the watch model, app and account support that setup. A watch without its own internet connection needs its paired phone or another available data path. If the watch is offline and disconnected, it cannot fetch fresh remote location data. The nearby-phone ringing shortcut is different: it relies on Bluetooth proximity.
Finding a watch is different from finding from a watch
The new wrist-based app helps you find other devices and items from a watch. To find a lost Pixel Watch with a phone, open the Find Hub app on Android or Find Hub in a browser, sign into the Google Account linked to the watch, select it and use the available location, sound or security options. The watch must have been added to Find Hub and satisfy the relevant setup requirements. Google Pixel Watch finding guidance

Find Hub is missing from the watch
- Check the watch Play Store for the app and available updates.
- Connect the watch to its phone, Wi-Fi or LTE; update system software and Google Play services if offered, then restart.
- Confirm the intended Google Account is on the watch, and check model and regional availability.
- If Google does not offer the app for that model, use the Android app or browser instead.
The target device or item is missing
- Verify that it is compatible and associated with the same account or Find Hub network.
- Check that Location and relevant finding settings are enabled.
- For a Pixel Watch, confirm it was added to Find Hub; for a second-hand watch, confirm ownership transfer is complete.
The phone does not ring
Check that it is powered on, paired to this watch over Bluetooth and close enough for the sound to be heard. Also confirm the watch is connected to the phone you intend to find.
The map shows an old location
The target may be offline, may not have been recently observed by the Find Hub network, or may have location reporting disabled. The displayed position may be its last known location rather than its current one.
A security action is unavailable
Actions such as securing or erasing a device depend on the target’s support, account ownership and registration. If the watch does not offer a control, check Find Hub on the phone or web; available controls can differ by interface and device.

Privacy and location sharing
Google says location data shared through the Find Hub network is encrypted and not visible even to Google. That claim concerns network location data; it does not mean that location permissions, account access or participation settings do not matter. Review Location and offline-finding settings on the devices involved, and use unknown-tracker alerts if an unfamiliar Bluetooth tracker appears to be moving with you. Find Hub app listing · Google’s Find Hub overview
Find Hub also has location-sharing features, which are separate from locating your own devices and items. They involve sharing controls and consent; the Wear OS app should not be treated as a way to secretly track another person. Take care before marking, securing or erasing a device so you do not act on the wrong item.
When Find Hub on a watch is useful
- You have misplaced earbuds, a phone or a tagged item and want a quick wrist-based way to check its available location or trigger a supported action.
- Your phone is not immediately accessible, but your watch still has internet through Wi-Fi, LTE or its paired phone.
- You already use several compatible Android devices or tracker tags and want access to their finding controls from your watch.
- You only need to ring a nearby phone: the existing Find my phone shortcut may be all you need.
- You expect guaranteed live or precision location for an offline target: Find Hub cannot guarantee that, and its value depends on the target’s support, settings and network observations.
For users who already own a supported watch, checking the watch Play Store is the sensible first step. If choosing a new watch, treat Find Hub as an ecosystem convenience rather than the sole reason to buy; verify the exact model, regional availability, phone compatibility, battery and connectivity needs before deciding.
