Google’s Find Hub App Comes to Select Pixel Watches: What It Does and How to Get It

Find Hub brings wrist-based device and compatible tracker finding to supported Pixel Watches, but app availability and capabilities vary by model, software and region.

Google announced Find Hub for Pixel Watch on March 3, 2026, giving supported watches a way to locate phones, accessories and compatible tracker-tagged items from the wrist. You can ring a nearby device, check a reported location and directions when it is farther away, and use lost-item or security controls where supported. Availability depends on your watch, software, account setup and rollout; Google has not published a complete model-by-model list for the standalone watch app.

What Find Hub adds to Pixel Watch

Find Hub is a broader experience than the older watch control for ringing a nearby phone. It brings Google’s device-finding system to the watch, where you can choose a supported device or tagged item and take an available action. Google’s March 2026 Pixel Drop announcement says the watch can ring a device within Bluetooth range and show a location and directions when it is out of range. Google’s Pixel Watch March update announcement also describes marking an item as lost and securing it directly from the watch.

The watch is a convenient control point for Find Hub; it does not become an independent GPS tracker for every item. What you can do depends on the device or accessory and its connection, account and network support.

Which Pixel Watches can use it?

Google announced Find Hub on Pixel Watch but has not provided a public, complete compatibility matrix for the standalone watch app. Its support documentation does list minimum software versions for finding the watch itself. Those requirements should not be mistaken for confirmation that the standalone Find Hub app is available on every model.

Google notes that app availability and features can vary by device and region. The practical test is whether Google’s Find Hub appears in the Play Store on your watch after it is updated.

What Find Hub can locate—and what it cannot promise

Find Hub supports Android phones and tablets, Wear OS watches, headphones and compatible tracker-tagged items. A tag must work with Google’s Find Hub network; an arbitrary Bluetooth tracker will not necessarily appear. Google’s Android device-finding help describes supported device categories.

  • Nearby device: If it is within Bluetooth range, you may be able to make it play a sound.
  • Out-of-range device: Find Hub may show its location and directions, based on a recent connection or a network report.
  • Offline-capable device or compatible tag: Nearby participating Android devices may help report an encrypted location through the Find Hub network. Freshness and accuracy depend on sightings and the item’s hardware.
  • Powered-off, depleted or unseen item: It may show only an older last-known location or no useful location.

This is not guaranteed live tracking. Google’s Play listing says Find Hub can show supported devices on a map even when offline and describes network location data as encrypted and not visible to Google; those are Google’s claims about its service, not an independent security audit. See Google’s Find Hub Play listing.

How to install or update Find Hub on the watch

  1. Wake the watch and press the side button to open the app list.
  2. Open Google Play Store and search for Google’s Find Hub. Install or update it if it is offered.
  3. If the app is not listed, swipe down on the watch, then open Settings → System → System updates and install any available update.
  4. Return to the Play Store and check again. Restart the watch if the update completed but the app still does not appear.

Google’s Pixel Watch app installation and update help provides the general update path and notes that availability can vary. The Android Find Hub app is listed as a free download on Google Play; that does not by itself guarantee that the watch app has reached every device or region.

Set up the watch so it can be found

Finding another item from your wrist and finding the watch itself are related but distinct tasks. To make the watch discoverable through Find Hub, Google requires it to be paired with a compatible Android device, have Location enabled and be added to Find Hub. The watch should use the Google Account you intend to use for finding it.

  1. On the watch, swipe down and open Settings → Location; turn Location on.
  2. Open Settings → Security → Device Administration and turn on Find Hub, if that setting is available on your watch.
  3. On the paired phone, open Settings → Google → Find Hub → Find your offline devices. Choose either With networks in high-traffic areas only or With network in all areas.
  4. On a phone or computer, visit android.com/find and check whether the watch appears in the account.

Google’s guidance for preparing to find a lost Wear OS watch specifically discusses Pixel Watch 3 network setup and says the watch needs a recent Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection to a phone. Menu names and availability may differ on other Android phones or watch software versions.

Find a phone, accessory or tag from the wrist

  1. Open Find Hub from the watch’s app list.
  2. Select the phone, accessory or tagged item you want to locate.
  3. If it is nearby, use the available sound option to make it ring.
  4. If it is out of Bluetooth range, review the map result and directions. Treat the location as a recent or network-reported result, not a guarantee of where the item is now.
  5. If offered for that item, use the lost-item or security action shown in the app.

Google may change labels as the app is updated, and actions differ by device category. Do not assume that every accessory supports ringing, locking or erasing.

If the app or a device is missing

Find Hub does not appear on the watch

  • Install available watch updates through Settings → System → System updates, then check the watch Play Store again.
  • Check which Google Account is active in the watch Play Store and whether the app is available in your region.
  • Update the paired phone, Google Play services, Pixel Watch app and phone’s Find Hub app, then restart the phone and watch.

The watch is absent from the Find Hub device list

  • Confirm the watch is paired to a compatible Android phone and signed into the intended Google Account.
  • Check that Location is on, Find Hub is enabled in Device Administration where available, and the watch has been added to the account.
  • Check android.com/find to distinguish a watch-app issue from account or device registration trouble.
  • If the watch is second-hand, it may need ownership transfer or setup under the new owner’s account.

The item is missing, will not ring or shows an old location

  • Make sure the item is associated with the same Google Account or Find Hub setup and is a supported device or compatible tag.
  • A sound command requires a usable nearby connection; an out-of-range item may have only a last-known or network-reported location.
  • A dead item or one that has not been seen by the network cannot provide a fresh location. Cellular service on an LTE watch does not make every item independently trackable.

Sideloading an app is not a reliable first fix: it can introduce version, signature and compatibility risks and is not Google’s official setup path.

Why use the watch app instead of the old phone-finder control?

The older Find My Phone control is mainly a quick way to ring a nearby phone. Find Hub can work across more categories, including supported accessories and tracker tags, and can present network-reported locations and security actions where a device supports them. The older control may remain on some watches or software builds; the new app broadens the wrist-based options rather than proving that every old control has been removed.

Wrist access is useful when the phone is the thing you have misplaced or when reaching for it is inconvenient. It does not replace a compatible tracker tag for objects that lack their own finding support, and it cannot guarantee recovery or a current location.
