The Grand Seiko SBGE295 is a stainless-steel Sport Collection watch with a deep green Hotaka Peaks-inspired dial, Spring Drive Caliber 9R66 and a GMT hand paired with a rotating 24-hour bezel. Grand Seiko says that arrangement can display three time zones. Its 44 mm case and 186 g listed weight are key fit considerations; the US product page displayed a price of $6,800 when checked on October 8, 2026.
What is the Grand Seiko SBGE295?
SBGE295 is the reference number for Grand Seiko’s Sport Collection Automatic Spring Drive 3-Day GMT. The manufacturer describes its green dial as inspired by the cliffs and ridgelines of the Hotaka Mountains, and says the color evokes the region’s short summer. Grand Seiko associates the mountains with Shinshu, where it makes Spring Drive watches. These are the maker’s explanations of the design, rather than independent assessments.
The watch has a stainless-steel case, dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, LumiBrite on the hands, indices and bezel, and a folding clasp with push-button release. The band is 21 mm wide. Grand Seiko’s US SBGE295 product page lists the specifications and displayed price.
How do the GMT hand and bezel work?
The 9R66 movement has a 24-hour hand for a second time indication, while the bezel rotates in both directions and carries a 24-hour scale. Grand Seiko says the hand and bezel together allow the watch to display three time zones. The product information establishes that capability, but does not detail a particular crown-setting sequence or travel workflow, so the safest practical description is the manufacturer’s stated three-zone display rather than a step-by-step operating promise.

What Spring Drive means in this watch
Caliber 9R66 is self-winding and can also be wound manually. Grand Seiko explains that the mainspring powers the movement; a rotor generates a small electrical charge that activates an electronic circuit and quartz oscillator, which regulate the spring-driven gear train. The company says the system operates without a battery or external power source. Its movement explanation is available on the Grand Seiko Caliber 9R66 page.
Grand Seiko lists approximately 72 hours of power reserve and accuracy of ±15 seconds per month, also expressed as ±1 second per day. The movement includes 30 jewels, a power-reserve indicator and a calendar-linked time-difference adjustment function. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.

How large is the SBGE295?
The official US specifications list a 44.0 mm case diameter, 50.8 mm lug-to-lug length and 14.7 mm thickness. Listed weight is 186 g, with a 21 mm band width. Diameter alone does not convey how a watch sits: the lug-to-lug measurement and thickness also matter when considering wrist coverage and how it may fit under a cuff. The stated dimensions and weight are useful screening figures, but cannot predict comfort for every wrist.
What are its durability specifications?
Grand Seiko specifies water resistance of 20 bar and magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m. The watch uses dual-curved sapphire with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, and LumiBrite on the hands, indices and bezel. These are listed specifications; they should not be read as independently verified performance claims or as a substitute for care and service guidance from the manufacturer.

How much does the SBGE295 cost?
When retrieved on October 8, 2026, Grand Seiko’s US product page displayed a price of USD 6,800. Its Japan page displayed JPY 880,000 including tax on the same date. These are separate regional prices, not a direct currency conversion or a universal price; listed prices and availability can change. Check the relevant local listing or a Grand Seiko boutique for current details.
The price frames the SBGE295 as a substantial purchase, so the useful decision points are whether its Spring Drive mechanism, stated three-time-zone display, green dial and case proportions suit your priorities. The available specifications do not establish how it compares in value or performance with competing watches.
