What is the Montre de Souscription 1?
It is a collaboration between Austrian independent watchmaker Habring² and watch publication MONOCHROME. The defining combination is a manual-wind monopusher chronograph and a two-tone salmon dial that draws on 1940s sector-dial design. MONOCHROME limited the edition to 33 pieces.
How the dial and chronograph work
The galvanised rose-gold-coloured dial has a vertically brushed centre, a concentric hour chapter ring and snailed sub-counters. Its black printed sector track combines Arabic numerals and a railroad-style minute track, with a peripheral telemeter scale. Polished steel hour and minute hands contrast with blued central chronograph-seconds and 30-minute-counter hands.
Time is shown centrally, with running seconds at 9 o’clock. A single pusher at 2 o’clock controls the chronograph’s start, stop and reset; elapsed seconds are read from the central hand and elapsed minutes from the counter at 3 o’clock.

MONOCHROME’s description also lists tangential-screw fine adjustment, an anti-magnetic escapement with a Carl Haas hairspring, KIF shock protection and hand decoration. These are product-page specifications, not results of independent performance testing.
Case, bracelet and included strap
The case has a double-sealed crown and one chronograph pusher at 2 o’clock. The listed package includes a seven-row beads-of-rice steel bracelet and a taupe nubuck strap. The lugs are drilled, which the product description says makes strap changes easier; the reviewed specifications do not state the lug width, so check the actual watch before buying a substitute strap.
Original subscription price and warranty
The 2021 subscription offer was EUR 5,950 excluding taxes, with a non-refundable EUR 2,000 deposit excluding taxes and the balance due when the watch was ready to ship. Launch material anticipated first deliveries in September 2021. These were launch terms, not a live offer. MONOCHROME’s original offer description included insured shipping and a three-year Habring² warranty.
Separately, Habring²’s general technical information says its movements are shock-protected to industry standards, regulated to chronometer-quality standards and covered by a three-year warranty against production faults. For a pre-owned watch, confirm the applicable warranty terms and service history with the seller or brand. The reviewed sources do not state current service prices or turnaround times for this model.

Is it available now, and what does it cost?
MONOCHROME’s product page labels the watch sold out. Phillips auction catalogues document examples appearing on the secondary market, including a circa-2021 example numbered 1/33 that sold for HK$63,500 in a 2024 Hong Kong auction record. That is a dated individual result, not a current asking price, appraisal or indication that another example is currently for sale. A resale price depends on a live listing and the particular watch’s condition and documentation.
