Hamilton’s Khaki Field range is a collection, not one watch with one standard size or movement. Its current US lineup includes Mechanical, Auto, King Day-Date, Quartz and Murph families, with listed case sizes from 33mm to 42mm. Choose by the exact reference’s fit, winding method and features—not by the Khaki Field name alone.
The Hamilton US collection page is a useful snapshot of the current assortment, but models and availability can vary by region and change over time. Check the product page for the reference you are considering.

What sizes are available in the Hamilton Khaki Field collection?
Hamilton’s US collection page displays case sizes of 33mm, 36mm, 38mm, 40mm and 42mm across its listed Khaki Field watches. Those figures describe the breadth of the collection, not a size range available in every family. A particular model may come in only one size or a limited set of sizes.
Diameter is a starting point, not a complete fit measurement. When the product page provides them, compare lug-to-lug length and case thickness too. Wrist shape, lug geometry and the watch’s strap or bracelet affect how a watch wears, so trying on a likely candidate can help resolve close calls.

What is the difference between Khaki Field Mechanical, Auto and Quartz?
The family names indicate different movement categories, but they do not establish every specification for every reference. Confirm the movement type and calibre on the exact model page before relying on details such as winding method, power reserve or complications.

| Family or movement type | What the distinction means | What to confirm on the reference page |
|---|---|---|
| Khaki Field Mechanical | A mechanical family; manual winding is the relevant distinction to check for a specific watch. | Exact movement, winding method, reserve and any display features. |
| Khaki Field Auto | An automatic mechanical family. An automatic watch is still mechanical; verify the specific calibre and whether it also supports manual winding. | Exact movement, reserve, dimensions and complications. |
| Khaki Field Quartz | A quartz family rather than a mechanical movement family. | Exact reference specifications and display or case options. |
Hamilton also lists King Day-Date, Power Reserve and Auto Chrono variants in its US collection. These names point to different model lines or features, but the collection overview is not a substitute for checking the individual watch’s specifications.

Which Hamilton Khaki Field models are automatic?
Hamilton identifies Khaki Field Auto and Murph as automatic families, and its Murph page specifically names the H-10 automatic movement. The collection includes other families and variants, so do not infer that a watch is automatic from the Khaki Field name alone. Verify the movement on the exact reference page.

Hamilton’s Murph family page specifies an H-10 movement with an 80-hour power reserve, sapphire crystal and 100m water resistance. These are Murph specifications stated by Hamilton, not specifications for the entire Khaki Field range. See the official US Murph family page for its listed versions.
Is the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph available in 38mm?
Yes. Hamilton’s current US Murph family page lists 38mm and 42mm versions. Hamilton says the smaller size followed requests from fans for a smaller Murph. The same page describes the model’s origin as a prop created for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, later brought into the Khaki Field collection following fan requests.

How do you choose between the 38mm and 42mm Murph?
Start with the case diameter, then compare the two references’ lug-to-lug length and thickness if Hamilton lists them. A larger diameter does not, by itself, prove that a watch will fit poorly or well: lug shape and wrist proportions matter. Try both sizes if possible, especially if you are uncertain between them.

Hamilton’s collection pages include strap and bracelet variants; a bundled option does not establish compatibility with every other Murph reference or aftermarket strap.
Quick Recap
How to choose the right Khaki Field model
- Decide on fit. Compare diameter first, then lug-to-lug and thickness where those measurements are published. Assess the watch on your wrist rather than treating a diameter as a universal fit rule.
- Choose a movement category. Decide whether you want a manual-winding mechanical watch, an automatic mechanical watch or quartz, then verify the exact reference’s movement and calibre.
- Match the dial and features to your use. Check whether the model is time-only or has a date, day-date, chronograph or power-reserve display; do not assume a feature from a family name alone.
- Check construction and what is included. Confirm case material, crystal, water-resistance rating and supplied strap or bracelet on the exact product page.
- Check the local listing. Hamilton’s collection is regional, and price, availability and assortment can differ. Consult the relevant local site and confirm stock before buying.
